SPLINT DEVICE FOR GUIDED SURGICAL ROBOT
A splint device for guided robotic surgery, includes an arcuate splint body having first and second ends and opposing concave and convex surfaces. The splint body defines a plurality of holes spaced apart between the first and second ends, with each hole extending between the concave and convex surfaces. A tracking portion is engaged with the convex surface of the splint body between the first and second ends such that at least one of the holes is disposed between the tracking portion and each of the first and second ends. The tracking portion extends outwardly from the convex surface and has a kinematic mount engaged therewith.
Bite block with a needle alignment attachment system
A bite block with inclined surfaces fits between a patient's upper and lower jaws to hold them apart and fixes the bite block position relative to the jaws. A support plate slides relative to the bite block to position a needle guide on the support plate along an axis of the support plate. A position stop on the support plate contacts the anterior border of the Ramus of the patient's mandible to position the needle guide along the axis. A syringe needle is guided by the needle guide to a predetermined location to administer anesthetic, preferably to the inferior alveolar nerve as it enters the mandible. The needle guide is inclined to avoid gaging and a tongue depressor attached to the support plate positions the patient's tongue.
MOTION BASED DENTAL SPLINTS
Apparatuses, components, devices, methods, and systems for generating motion-based dental splints are provided. An example dental splint includes a thin-shell aligner and a contact surface formed based on motion data. The motion data may include relative motion data based on movement of a patients upper dentition with respect to the patients lower dentition. The contact surface may include one or more ridges corresponding to the positions of a contact region on the opposing dentition as a jaw movement is performed. The dental splint may be used to treat temporomandibular joint disorder. An example method includes acquiring an impression of a patients dentition; acquiring jaw motion data for the patient; generating a thin-shell appliance for the patient based on the impression; generating a contact surface based on the motion data; and joining the contact surface with the thin-shell appliance.
Maxillofacial Fixation Implants Having a Registration Member Relative to the Anterior Nares and Anterior Nasal Spine
A maxillofacial fixation implant having a registration member positioned so as to abut, surround and/or engage with the anterior nares and the anterior nasal spine of a human skull, and the method of designing, manufacturing and utilizing the implant, wherein the implant has an upper anchor implant portion adapted for affixation to the upper portion of a maxilla and a lower anchor implant portion adapted for affixation to separated bone segments of the maxilla.
DEVICE FOR SHEILDING TEETH TO BE TREATED
The invention relates to a device for shielding teeth to be treated in order to prevent an inflow of liquid, such as saliva or blood for example, and to a use of the device according to the invention. The invention relates to a partial dental dam (1) for protecting teeth to be treated, comprising a tensioning cloth (2) made of an elastic material and two actuation elements (3) arranged on opposing ends of the tensioning cloth (2). The tensioning cloth (2) is designed to be introduced into at least one intermediate tooth space (11) from the occlusal side in a first tensioned state, which can be achieved by pulling apart the actuation elements (3) in a tensioning direction (90), and to sealingly rest against the interdental gingiva and the approximal surfaces of the teeth (10) forming the at least one intermediate tooth space (11) in a second state after being introduced into the at least one intermediate tooth space (11). Each actuation element (3) rests against at least one tooth (10) and/or against the surrounding gingiva in the second state. The invention further relates to the use of the partial dental dam according to the invention. The tensioning cloth (2) is elongated by pulling the actuation elements (3) in the tensioning direction (90); the tensioning cloth (2) is introduced into at least one intermediate tooth space (11) from the occlusal side in the elongated state; and the tensioning cloth (2) is brought to rest against the interdental gingiva and the approximal surfaces of the teeth (10) forming the at least one intermediate tooth space (11) by releasing the tensioning force. Each of the actuation elements (3) rests against at least one tooth (10) and/or against the surrounding gingiva.
Pressure Regulating Oral Appliance
The Pressure Regulating Oral Appliance is an oral appliance which is designed to reduce reflux. The device prevents the buildup of negative pressure within the oral cavity that can create a vacuum promoting reflux of stomach content through the LES.
HYDROPHOBIC DENTAL SURFACES
An example article may include a dental surface, a hydrophobic coating on the dental surface, and a restorative layer on the hydrophobic coating. An example technique may include applying, on a dental surface, a hydrophobic coating comprising an amphiphilic agent. The hydrophobic coating may provide a water contact angle of greater than or equal to about 50° on the dental surface. The example technique may include applying a restorative layer to the hydrophobic coating. An example kit may include a dental restorative composition and a hydrophobic coating composition. The hydrophobic coating composition may include an amphiphilic agent. The hydrophobic coating composition may be configured to provide a water contact angle of greater than or equal to about 50° on a dental surface.
