RELAPSE PREVENTION RETAINER
Apparatuses and methods for customized retainers to prevent relapse. In particular, described herein are customized retainers, and methods and apparatuses for making customized retainers that specifically reenforce and prevent movement of one or more teeth having a higher likelihood of relapse following completion of an orthodontic treatment plan.
OUTLIER DETECTION FOR CLEAR ALIGNER TREATMENT
Systems, methods, and computer-readable media for identifying and facilitating review of outlier treatment plans. A method includes receiving an initial three-dimensional (3D) model of an initial arrangement of a patient’s teeth and generating a first final 3D model of a first final arrangement of the patient’s teeth based on the initial 3D model of the initial arrangement of the patient’s teeth. The method further includes comparing the first final arrangement of the patient’s teeth with a set of a plurality of final arrangements of teeth from previous treatment plans of past patients and determining whether the first final arrangement of the patient’s teeth satisfies one or more outlier criteria based on the comparing. Responsive to determining that the first final arrangement of the patient’s teeth satisfies the one or more outlier criteria, an orthodontic treatment plan comprising the first final 3D model of the first final arrangement of the patient’s teeth is classified as a clinical risk.
Systems for creating and interacting with three dimensional virtual models
Systems and methods are provided for preparation of orthodontics and prosthodontics. A method may include scanning a patient's teeth to form first 3D data of the patient's teeth including a removable element that obscures part of the dental surfaces of the patient's teeth and non-obscured tooth surfaces, removing the removable element form the patient's teeth so that the removable element no longer obscures the part of the dental surfaces of the patient's teeth, and scanning the previously obscured part of the dental surfaces of the patent's teeth and the non-obscured tooth surfaces.
Orthodontic aligner with isolated segments
An orthodontic aligner includes a first plastic segment having a first shape that fits over a first portion of a dental arch of a patient, a second plastic segment having a second shape that fits over a second portion of the dental arch of the patient, and a connector that joins the first plastic segment to the second plastic segment. The connector is configured to be disposed along a lingual side of one or more additional teeth of the patient without exerting a clinically significant force on the one or more additional teeth. The connector spans a gap between the first plastic segment and the second plastic segment, the gap corresponding to the one or more additional teeth that are not to receive the clinically significant force. The connector includes a flexible material that will perform at least one of flex, move or change shape responsive to applied forces.
Intraoral scanner
A method of scanning an oral cavity including: acquiring, using an intraoral scanner (IOS) head, without changing a position of the IOS head, a first image of a first region of interest (ROI) and a second image of a second ROI where the first and the second ROIs are of different portions of a dental arch of the oral cavity and do not overlap; reconstructing depth information for the first and the second ROI; and generating a single model of the dental arch by combing the depth information.
Method for setting a local coordinate system of a tooth 3D digital model
In one aspect of the present application, a computer-implemented method for setting a local coordinate system of a tooth 3D digital model is provided, the method comprises: obtaining a first 3D digital model representing a first tooth, wherein the first 3D digital model is based on a world coordinate system; and setting a local coordinate system for the first 3D digital model using a first artificial neural network based on the first 3D digital model, where the first artificial neural network is a trained deep learning artificial neural network.
METHOD AND COMPUTER PROGRAM FOR DESIGNING STRAIGHTENING ALIGNERS
A method and computer program for designing straightening aligners are disclosed. The method for designing straightening aligners according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention includes generating current alignment information representing a patient's current tooth alignment state, and generating orthodontic alignment information for multiple orthodontic steps that are reached sequentially by correcting the current alignment information, wherein generating the orthodontic alignment information sets the multiple orthodontic steps such that the total sum of orthodontic forces applied to the patient's teeth per one orthodontic step is less than or equal to a preset total sum of orthodontic forces in order to reach a tooth alignment state corresponding to the orthodontic alignment information of each orthodontic step.
Production method for a dental aid made of a thermoplastic film or plate
The invention relates to a method for producing a dental aid from a thermoplastic film or plate, wherein a digital three-dimensional working model is created in a computer-aided manner using a three-dimensional data set of at least one part of an upper jaw and/or lower jaw.
Curable composition for use in a high temperature lithography-based photopolymerization process and method of producing crosslinked polymers therefrom
Provided herein are curable compositions for use in a high temperature lithography-based photopolymerization process, a method of producing crosslinked polymers using said curable compositions, crosslinked polymers thus produced, and orthodontic appliances comprising the crosslinked polymers.
APPLIANCE, SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR INFORMATION MANAGEMENT IN DENTISTRY
A device comprising an orthodontic or dental appliance for use with a system for information management in dentistry, a system for storing and managing dentistry data such as information about an orthodontic or dental treatment of a person using a private network and a method for information management in dentistry are described.
