The underwater device may include a first magnetic body within the dry cavity and coupled between the switch shaft and the nonferrous switch interface wall, and a second magnetic body external from the waterproof housing and adjacent the nonferrous switch interface wall in alignment with the first magnetic body so that rotation of the second magnetic body rotates the switch shaft. Each of the first magnetic body and the second magnetic body may include a permanent magnet.

A person operating the pruning shears (102) produces discernible separation strokes when the handles (104) of the shears (102) are squeezed together to produce a shearing action. The stroke detector (108) detects the separation strokes of the shears (102). By the addition of the control module (108) to the pruning shears (102), the shears are essentially converted into a data logging device by means of which important aspects of a produce harvesting process can be digitised and supplied to a harvest data digital data processing system.

A second drive circuit supplies a touch drive signal to each of the multiple common electrodes. A touch detection circuit performs detection of a touch by an object on the display device, based on a touch detection signal received from each of the multiple common electrodes. The display device includes multiple touch detection regions. Among the multiple common electrodes, multiple common electrodes are arranged in each of the touch detection regions. In the display system, touch detection is performed in part of the multiple touch detection regions, and touch detection is not performed in rest of the multiple touch detection regions.

A system and a method for fault detection for a liquid level sensing device are provided. The liquid level sensing device comprising a plurality of switches arranged to measure variance in a liquid level. A sensing signal comprising a plurality of measurements indicative of the liquid level is received from the liquid level sensing device. Each measurement is obtained in response to one or more of the plurality of switches being in a given position at a given liquid level. It is determined, based on the sensing signal, whether the liquid level changed according to one or more expected change patterns. A fault signal is output in response to determining that the liquid level changed according to an abnormal change pattern.
