A PoE system includes a plurality of PoE devices and a hub that are coupled in a ring configuration through a plurality of network cables. The hub is coupled to two of the network cables, and provides electric power to at least one of the network cables that is coupled to the hub. Each of the PoE devices is coupled to two of the network cables, receives electric power from one of the two network cables, and supplies electric power to the other one of the two network cables. As a consequence, each of the PoE devices can be directly or indirectly powered by the hub.

Zero crossing contactor and method of operating

A contactor apparatus and method for operating the contactor apparatus can include a contactor assembly with a contactor coil operably coupled to a contactor switch. One or more sensors can be provided in the contactor assembly adapted to measure one or more aspects of the contactor assembly. Based upon the measured aspects, a controller can initiate operation of the contactor switch to effectively toggle the contactor switch at a zero-crossing point along an alternating current waveform.

Intelligent automatic transfer switch module

An automatic transfer switch (100) for automatically switching an electrical load between two power sources is provided. Two power cords (106) enter the ATS (A power and B power inputs) and one cord (109) exits the ATS (power out to the load). The ATS has indicators (107) located beneath a clear crenelated plastic lens (108) that also acts as the air inlets. The ATS (100) also has a communication portal (103) and a small push-button (104) used for inputting some local control commands directly to the ATS (100). The ATS (100) can be mounted on a DIN rail at a rack and avoids occupying rack shelves.

Systems and methods for contact erosion mitigation are provided. To perform contact erosion mitigation, an order of opening/closing poles and/or contact relays of particular poles is altered, resulting in a sharing of potential arcing conditions amongst the poles/contact relays of these poles.

Power connector with integrated power monitoring

An electronic power connector including a contact configured to electrically connect a power supply to a load. The electronic power connector further including a contact core configured to receive the contact, the contact core including a transformer winding wrapped around the contact core, the transformer winding configured to sense a current.

METHOD FOR MONITORING AN ELECTRICAL SWITCHING ARRANGEMENT

In order to specify a method, which is improved in comparison to the prior art, for monitoring an electrical switching arrangement having at least two channels, which each electrically conductively connect an electrical source supplying the respective channel, forming an electrical supply quantity, to an output of the respective channel, the switching arrangement is fed not only an external safety signal, from which an internal safety signal is respectively generated for the at least two channels in order to therewith control a voltage interrupter connected in series in the respective channel, but also a pulsed diagnostic signal, which is superimposed on the internal safety signals in order to alternately open and close again the voltage interrupters connected in the respective channels and to thus respectively alternately interrupt the supply quantities appearing in the respective channels.

A switching module includes mechanical relays, semiconductor switches, voltage detectors to detect an input voltage to a power converter, and a controller. When the controller determines that the waveform of the input voltage is abnormal during a first determination period, the controller outputs an open command signal to mechanical relays corresponding to a power source electrically coupled to the power converter. When the controller subsequently determines that the waveform of the input voltage is normal during a second determination period, the controller outputs a close command signal to the mechanical relays.

Circuit arrangement for switching an electrical load and method for checking a status of a safety output of a circuit arrangement

A circuit arrangement for switching an electrical load comprising an electrical switching element with a control input and an output; a control unit connected to the control input to drive the electrical switching element, in a first switching state, to generate a first output signal forming a switch-on signal for the load and, in a second switching state, to generate a second output signal, smaller than the first output signal, forming a switch-off signal for the electrical load; a safety output connected electrically to the electrical switching element output and to which the electrical load is connected; a decoupling apparatus arranged between the electrical switching element output and the safety output; a first output signal detecting apparatus connected to the electrical switching element output; and a second output signal detecting apparatus arranged in a circuit path between the decoupling apparatus and the safety output.

A method for diagnosing failure of a current breaking device 21A included in a power supply system 12 of a vehicle 1 includes: a supply step of supplying power to a first electric load 11 and a first energy storage apparatus 13 by a power supply apparatus 14; a command step of commanding the current breaking device 21A to perform cutoff while power is supplied from the power supply apparatus 14 to the first electric load 11 and the first energy storage apparatus 13; and a determination step of measuring a charge current of a secondary battery 20A by a current sensor 21B while the cutoff is commanded to the current breaking device 21A, and determining presence or absence of failure of the current breaking device 21A based on a measured current value.

RELAY CONTROL APPARATUS AND METHOD

A relay control apparatus and method for retaining a relay in a closed state even though a system error occurs to reset the processor. Therefore, the relay control apparatus and method prevents an accident caused by the reset of the processor since the operation state of a plurality of relays is maintained even when the processor is reset. In addition, if the operation state of the processor is a reset state even after a predetermined time passes, the operation state of the plurality of relays is changed to a turn-off state, and system resources and energy are prevented from being wasted. In addition, when the operation state of the processor is recovered, the operation state of the plurality of relays may be controlled by the processor.
