INTRAORAL SCANNING AND DENTAL CONDITION IDENTIFICATION

An intraoral scanner generates 2D images of a dental site and 3D intraoral scans of the dental site. The computing device receives the 2D images of the dental site and the 3D intraoral scans of the dental site from the intraoral scanner, generates a 3D model of the dental site based on the 3D intraoral scans of the dental site, and processes at least one of a) one or more of the 2D images of the dental site, b) one or more of the 3D intraoral scans of the dental site, or c) data from the 3D model of the dental site to identify one or more intraoral areas of interest (AOIs) at the dental site. The computing device determines a dental condition associated with the one or more intraoral AOIs, and determines a manner for scanning the one or more intraoral AOIs.

Ceramic processing for the direct manufacture of customized labial and lingual orthodontic brackets

A method of manufacturing customized ceramic labial/lingual orthodontic brackets by digital light processing, said method comprises measuring dentition data of a profile of teeth of a patient, wherein measuring dentition data is performed using a CT scanner or intra-oral scanner, based on the dentition data, creating a three dimensional computer-assisted design (3D CAD) model of the patient's teeth using reverse engineering, and saving the 3D CAD model on a computer, designing a 3D CAD bracket structure model for a single labial or lingual bracket structure, importing the 3D CAD bracket structure model into a Digital Light Processing (DLP) machine, directly producing the bracket by layer manufacturing.

The present disclosure relates to an oral cavity based device, system and toolkit which identifies the human or animal through the unique demarcations oral cavity. These unique demarcations are described as “oralsprint” identifiers (IDs) used to both identify and measure saliva-based biologics and other biometrics through one or more electronic sensors and related technologies for humans and animals to herein as ORAL AND SALIVA BASED EQUINE ID DRUG MONITORING.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MAPPING TOOTH SURFACES

Provided herein are platforms and methods for mapping a three-dimensional (3D) dental anatomy of a subject.

Methods of initiating aligner-based orthodontic treatment of a patient. A method of initiating aligner-based orthodontic treatment of a patient includes recording a dental condition data set, producing one or more dental aligners, and providing the one or more dental aligners to the patient. At least the producing the one or more dental aligners and the providing the one or more dental aligners to the patient are performed at a service provider office while the patient remains at the service provider office.

INTRAORAL SCANNER SLEEVE AUTHENTICATION AND IDENTIFICATION

Apparatuses, including sleeves, intraoral scanning systems to use these sleeves, and methods of using the sleeve, that authenticate the sleeve for use with an intraoral scanning system. Authentication may include verifying that the sleeve is new (unused) and/or verifying that the sleeve is appropriate and/or intended for use with the intraoral scanning system. Once authenticated, operation parameters of the intraoral scanning system can be automatically set based on information from a scanned identifier on the sleeve.

METHOD FOR GENERATING A DIGITAL DATA SET REPRESENTING A TARGET TOOTH ARRANGEMENT

In one aspect of the present application, there is provided a computer-implemented method for generating a digital data set representing a target tooth arrangement, the method comprises: obtaining a first and a second 3D digital models respectively representing upper jaw teeth and lower jaw teeth under an initial tooth arrangement, where the first and the second 3D digital models are in a predetermined relative position relationship; extracting features from the first and the second 3D digital models; generating a first digital data set representing a target tooth arrangement of the upper jaw teeth and the lower jaw teeth based on the extracted features using a trained recurrent neural network based deep learning neural network.

METHODS FOR GENERATING COMPOSITE IMAGES OF A PATIENT

A computer-implemented method for generating a virtual depiction of an orthodontic treatment of a patient is disclosed herein. The computer-implemented method may involve gathering a three-dimensional (3D) model modeling the patient's dentition at a specific treatment stage of an orthodontic treatment plan. An image of the patient's face and dentition may be gathered. A first set of reference points modeled on the 3D model of the patient's dentition and a second set of reference points represented on the dentition of the image of the patient may be received. The image of the patient's dentition may be projected into a 3D space to create a projected 3D model of the image of the patient's dentition. Based on a comparison of the first reference points and projections of the second set of reference points, a plurality of modified images of the patient may be constructed to depict progressive stages of a treatment plan.

Dental instrument, control method thereof, and three-dimensional measuring

A handheld dental instrument includes a casing provided with a holding portion to be held by a user, a reception unit provided on the casing to receive an operation from the user, and a control unit that controls a control target to perform a predetermined action in response to the operation received by the reception unit. The control unit performs a first control when the operation received by the reception unit from the user is a first operation, and performs a second control different from the first control when the operation received by the reception unit from the user is a second operation different from the first operation.

Aligner damage prediction at weak spots with simulation

Embodiments relate to an aligner breakage solution that tests probability of aligner breakage at weak points. A method includes gathering a digital model representing an aligner for a dental arch of a patient, receiving material property information for a material to be used to manufacture the aligner, and analyzing one or more regions of the aligner. Analyzing a region of the aligner comprises simulating application of a load around the region, determining at least one of a stress, a strain or a strain energy density at the region, evaluating a strength of the aligner at the region, and determining whether the region satisfies a damage criterion based on the strength of the aligner at the region.
