20170265972 · 2017-09-21 ·

A method for digital archiving and manufacturing of dental prosthetics and a prosthesis, and teaching and training for same are provided. The method mainly includes the following steps: preoperative scanning: creating a first digital model file; optical positioning and turning treatment: creating a second digital model file from a turning process; physical model calculation: creating reversely an autologous crown model file of a patient; and fixed denture manufacturing: manufacturing, according to the second digital model file and the autologous crown model file, a fixed denture that meets needs of the patient, so that an inner layer structure of a crown of the fixed denture can be tightly bound to an abutment, and it may be decided to retain an original crown contour according to needs. A tooth model based on a teaching digital model file can be used for teaching and training of a trainee with the foregoing method.

METHOD FOR DIGITAL DESIGNING A DENTAL RESTORATION
20170258561 · 2017-09-14 · ·

Disclosed is a method for digitally designing a dental restoration, wherein a 3D representation of at least a part of the upper or lower jaw is obtained. The 3D representation represents at least a target site for placing the final restoration and at least one antagonist tooth opposing the target site. Furthermore a digital anatomy design of the restoration is provided. The digital anatomy is based at least on a dynamic occlusion and a relative offset of the planned restoration position. Accordingly, a restoration may be designed that does not interrupt the natural occlusion.

Methods and systems for determining occlusal contacts between teeth of a subject

A method and a system for determining occlusal contacts between lower teeth and upper teeth of a subject are provided. The method comprises: receiving a 3D model including a first portion and a second portion including points respectively representative of the lower teeth and the upper teeth; determining an occlusal plane associated with the second portion of the 3D model; determining, from each point of the first portion, respective distance values to the occlusal plane; and identifying, within the points of the first portion, based on the respective distance values, using a voxel grid, a set of occlusal points representative of at least some of the occlusal contacts between the lower teeth and the upper teeth.

Monitoring of dentition

An acquisition kit, including: a mouthpiece intended for being placed into the mouth of a patient and including a reference mark; and an image-acquisition apparatus including a screen for viewing an image that can be acquired, computer memory containing information on target acquisition conditions, and a computer program comprising program code instructions for displaying on said screen a reference in a position such that, when the reference mark matches the reference on the screen, the acquisition apparatus complies with the target acquisition conditions.

Apparatus and method for oral and maxillofacial surgery and preoperative modeling

A head frame apparatus is secured to a human head during maxillofacial surgery and includes devices to easily position and secure an endotracheal (breathing) tube and an anesthesia delivery circuit for the patient that reduces the likelihood that the flow of oxygen through the tube is restricted thereby reducing the risk of severe injury or death. The head frame apparatus also includes a removable reference indicator, which may be easily attached and removed while identifying a reference point of the patient's face. Also the reference indicator includes a universal joint and pointer with an attached ruler. A transport apparatus positions multiple preset reference indicators and allows for preoperative transportation and removal, while protecting the preset reference indicators from inadvertent adjustment. A bendable reference indicator used in an articulator for preoperative modeling allows for easily identifying reference points in a cast model. An orbiting segment apparatus positions a portion of a cast of a jaw in relation to a condyle ball of the articulator.

Methods of digitally designing artificial teeth

Digitally designing artificial teeth for use in a dental prosthesis and/or dental restoration. Designing natural-looking functional artificial teeth based on computer-aided design using reference dentition articulated in a predetermined occlusal scheme as a basis for effective design. In particular, the occlusal surfaces of posterior artificial teeth are designed in a digital environment to provide effective consistent functional set-up and performance, especially across a variety of occlusal schemes, in the preparation of dental prostheses.

Antimicrobial-antibiofilm compositions and methods of use thereof for personal care products

Compositions comprising one or more chelating agents and optionally zinc ion salts are used to inhibit the growth or biofilm formation in bacteria associated with personal care products such as ophthalmic, pedicure, manicure or podiatric solutions. The compositions of the present application can also comprise gelling agents, antimicrobials, antibiotic or a pH adjuster. The compositions may be in the form of a solution, a gel, a cream, a jelly, a powder, a paste, a lotion, soap and a cleaner.
