Dental aspiration prevention systems and methods
11826026 · 2023-11-28 ·

In one embodiment, an aspiration prevention system is configured to keep items from moving from a mouth of a patient into a throat of the patient. The system includes a mouth prop, a frame, and an air-permeable barrier. The mouth prop has a top surface configured to abut top teeth of the mouth, a bottom surface configured to abut bottom teeth of the mouth, and a frame coupling feature. The frame has a barrier retention feature configured to retain an air-permeable barrier, and a prop coupling feature that is attachable to the frame coupling feature of the mouth prop in a position in which the frame at least partially covers the throat.

Method for verifying a segmentation result of a 3D digital model of jaw

In one aspect, the present application provides a method for verifying a segmentation result of a 3D digital model of jaw, the method comprises: obtaining a reference position segmentation result of a 3D digital model of jaw, where the reference position result is obtained by segmenting the 3D digital model of jaw positioned at a reference position using a first segmentation method; perturbating the 3D digital model of jaw positioned at the reference position multiple times, and segmenting the 3D digital model of jaw positioned at the multiple perturbed positions using the first segmentation method, to obtain corresponding multiple perturbed position segmentation results; and determining whether the reference position segmentation result is reliable based on similarities between the reference position segmentation result and the multiple perturbed position segmentation results, where segmentation of the 3D digital model of jaw is to segment teeth from each other and from gingiva, and is to classify facets of the 3D digital model of jaw into tooth numbers and gingiva.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR PROVIDING FEEDBACK DATA USEFUL IN PROSTHODONTIC PROCEDURES ASSOCIATED WITH THE INTRA ORAL CAVITY
20220313413 · 2022-10-06 · ·

Feedback data useful in prosthodontic procedures associated with the intra oral cavity is provided. First, a 3D numerical model of the target zone in the intra oral cavity is provided, and this is manipulated so as to extract particular data that may be useful in a particular procedure, for example data relating to the finish line or to the shape and size of a preparation. The relationship between this data and the procedure is then determined, for example the clearance between the preparation and the intended crown. Feedback data, indicative of this relationship, is then generated, for example whether the preparation geometry is adequate for the particular type of prosthesis.

Device For Heating A Dental Material

A heating device for heating a dental material. The heating device has a body and a socket. The socket is removably received within the body and has a socket wall that forms a receptacle for positioning a container for the dental material therein. The body has a light source for emitting light toward the socket wall in a direction toward the receptacle. The socket wall is at least partially transmissive for infrared light. The heating device allows for heating the dental material within the container.

Adjustable silicone wrist band and kit

The invention is an assortment of apparatuses to magnetically tether a dental hygienist's hand to the utility tubes and hoses commonly found in a dental office. In a preferred embodiment, this is an adjustable silicone utility band containing a magnet which is worn by the hygienist. This tethers him or her to a utility hose or tube, which has a clasp that contains a reciprocal magnet. In another embodiment, the invention is a ring or fingergrip which contain magnets that tether to the utility hose or tube via the magnetized clasp.
