A system for repositioning teeth a patient from an initial tooth arrangement to a final tooth arrangement includes a plurality of incremental position adjustment appliances, each having an arrangement of cavities shaped to receive and reposition teeth of the patient. At least some of the appliances in the system are successively worn by the patient to exert force on at least one tooth and move the teeth of the patient from a first arrangement to a successive arrangement different from the first arrangement. The system includes a first multilayer shell with a bending stiffness factor less than about 0.1 GPa*mm.sup.3 and an elastic modulus no greater than about 1.5 GPa; and a second shell with a bending stiffness factor greater than 0.1 GPa*mm.sup.3.

The second portion may be configured to be formed in a mouth of a user when the user bites down on the heat moldable material. A multilayered (e.g., three layered) denture includes an expandable palate. While a palate portion expands, deforms, or otherwise adjusts, a dental occlusion of the denture is maintained. The denture may be manufactured using injection molding or other layered manufacturing techniques.

Antifungal composites and methods thereof

Disclosed herein are antifungal composites, devices, and methods to reduce or prevent a fungus from growing on the antifungal composite. The antifungal composite and devices thereof may include a biocompatible polymer and a Si.sub.3N.sub.4 powder loaded in at least a portion of the biocompatible polymer. The polymer may be a thermoplastic polymer such as a poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) resin and the Si.sub.3N.sub.4 powder may be present in a concentration of about 1 vol. % to about 30 vol. % in the thermoplastic polymer.
