Animal Femoral Implant
20220370205 · 2022-11-24 ·

The present invention relates to an animal femoral implant and, more specifically, to an animal femoral implant, which may enable artificial hip joint replacement for animals, may enable the implant to be firmly fixed to the animal femur by spontaneous bone growth of the animal, thereby preventing complications such as aseptic dissociation and bone resorption around the cement, which may occur when using bone cement, and may cause a porous part, which has relatively low strength due to a plurality of pores formed therein, to be protected by a frame part, which has relatively high strength due to a solid face formed therein, thereby preventing damage to the porous part in which the edge thereof is broken or bent by friction with the bone or by an external force in the process of inserting the femur implant into the animal femur and eliminating a problem in that porous particles that may be generated when the porous part is damaged penetrate into blood vessels and the like to cause various inflammatory reactions.

Method for controlling an eye surgical laser and treatment device

A method of controlling an eye surgical laser is disclosed for the separation of a volume body with predefined posterior and anterior interfaces from a human/animal cornea. The method including controlling the laser with a control device, the laser being configured to emit pulsed laser pulses in a predefined pattern into the cornea. The posterior and anterior interfaces of the volume body are defined by the predefined pattern and are generated by an interaction of the individual laser pulses with the cornea through photodisruption. The control device controls the laser beam such that both interfaces are generated via a continuous, uninterrupted sequence of laser pulses. A treatment device is disclosed with at least one eye surgical laser for the separation of a predefined corneal volume with predefined interfaces of a human/animal eye by photodisruption and with at least one control device for the laser(s).

The invention relates to a method for controlling an ophthalmological laser (12) of a treatment apparatus (10) for the treatment of a human or animal eye (16), comprising controlling the laser (12) by means of a control device (18) of the treatment apparatus (10) such that it emits pulsed laser pulses (20) in a shot sequence in a preset pattern into the eye (16), wherein the individual laser pulses interact with a tissue (14) of the eye for the treatment of the eye (16), wherein a space-filling curve is preset for the pattern for treating the tissue (14).

Method and apparatus for treating cranial cruciate ligament disease in canines
11607255 · 2023-03-21 ·

A surgical guidance system (SGS) for performing a cruciate pivot osteotomy in canines to treat cranial cruciate ligament disease. The SGS comprises a guide, a jig, and a plate. The guide is first placed over the tibia until it interacts with specific anatomical features of the tibia, thereby marking the proper position for the jig to be placed. After the jig has been secured, a blade defines an osteotomy within a proximal portion of the tibia. A portion of the jig is then cranially rotated providing a rotational correction of the proximal tibia. A compressive force is then applied to the osteotomy by the jig. Next the multiplane locking plate is placed over the osteotomy as dictated by the features of the jig. After initially securing the plate into its correct position, the jig is removed and the plate is then secured to the cranial surface of the tibia.

AURAL HEMATOMA SPLINT SYSTEM AND METHOD
20220331137 · 2022-10-20 ·

An aural hematoma splint (AHS) system/method providing for animal ear pinna (AEP) suspension and/or compression allowing non-surgical treatment of AEP auricular hematoma is disclosed. The AHS promotes healing performance by including a conical primary plate (CPP) and angular secondary plate (ASP) that are used in conjunction with non-elastic fabric tape (NFT) to hold the AEP in suspension during treatment. The NFT includes a long strap collar (LSC) and cross support strips (CSS) for preparatory taping and application of the CPP/ASP to the AEP. This sandwich configuration of the CPP/ASP surrounding the AEP creates equilibrium in hematoma fluid pressures within the damaged area of the AEP, promotes a uniform thin layer of blood to clot in the entirety of the hematoma region, and allows regeneration of damaged tissues in a controlled environment while limiting structural and aesthetic damage to the healed AEP post treatment.
