Concurrent treatment of oral and systemic maladies using direct current electricity
A method and apparatus for the concurrent treatment of multiple oral diseases and defects while promoting general oral hygiene utilizing electricity are provided for non-human animals. Electrodes are used to deliver an electrical current to the gingival tissues of a mouth in order to achieve a number of therapeutic, prophylactic, and regenerative benefits. These benefits include killing oral microbes, increasing oral vasodilation, reducing oral biofilm, improving oral blood circulation, reversing oral bone resorption, promoting oral osteogenesis, treating gum recession, and fostering gingival regeneration. Other benefits include the treatment of gingivitis, periodontitis, and oral malodor, and other systemic diseases correlated with oral pathogens.

SYSTEM FOR ANIMAL DENTAL CLEANING
A system for animal dental cleaning and treatment comprises a muzzle, a muzzle strap securement assembly, a bite member, a mouthguard assembly, an electrical assembly including a power source, a control panel display touch screen or mobile phone app, and a plurality of blue lights and/or LED lights carried in the bite member and mouthguard assembly and operably connected to the electrical assembly. The system is configured for securement to an animal, and to provide blue light dental care to the animal. The system may be used in a method for cleaning an animal's teeth using blue light. The blue light technology is provided to kill harmful bacteria which cause gingivitis and periodontal disease. The primary harmful bacteria the cleaning system is configured to address is black-pigmented bacteria (BPB), commonly found in animals such as canines and felines. The cleaning system and preventive treatment method help restore the oral biome of the animal to a healthy and balanced state.
