An antenna for use in a distributed antenna system is provided. The antenna includes: (a) a feeding circuit on a first side of a first dielectric defining an edge perpendicular to the first side, a coplanar waveguide comprising a signal feed and a signal return coplanar with and interfittedly apart from the signal feed; (b) a radiator circuit on a second side of a second dielectric, a monopole radiator and a radiator return being copolanar and spaced apart from each other, the first dielectric capacitively coupling the signal feed to the monopole radiator; and (c) an edge connection along the edge for electrically connecting the signal return to the radiator return.

A cover encloses the feeding circuit, including its impedance matching, in a water-resistant enclosure. The antenna ceiling-mounts indoors, is coated with a fire-resistant coating, and is operable at VHF (132-174 MHz), UHF (350-520 MHz), and 698-960 MHz.

Plasma-integrated switching devices

A switching device includes a first electrode at least partially disposed within a sealed chamber. The sealed chamber encloses a plasma phase change material. The switching device includes a second electrode at least partially disposed within the sealed chamber. The second electrode is physically separated from the first electrode. When subjected to a signal that satisfies a threshold, the plasma phase change material forms a plasma within the sealed chamber. The first electrode is electrically coupled to the second electrode via the plasma when the plasma is formed. The first electrode is electrically isolated from the second electrode when the plasma is not formed. The switching device includes a first connector electrically coupled to the first electrode and a second connector electrically coupled to the second electrode. The first connector, the second connector, or both, are configured to receive the signal.

The present invention relates to an electromagnetic wave shielding sheet for an antenna, to a method for manufacturing same, to an antenna comprising same, and to a battery pack for a portable terminal having said antenna. The method for manufacturing the electromagnetic wave shielding sheet for the antenna may reduce a frequency variation, provide a heat-dissipating function, and prevent peel-off. The method comprises: a step of preparing a ferrite sheet; and step of placing a heat-dissipating layer on one side of the ferrite sheet. The present invention has advantages in that the adhesive forces of the ferrite sheet and the heat-dissipating layer are excellent and the heat-dissipating effects are excellent, the electromagnetic wave shielding sheet can be applied to various antenna products, and the frequency variation can be reduced when the antenna having the electromagnetic wave shielding sheet is mounted on the battery pack.

An antenna may include a ground plane, a front ground plane extension and a rear ground plane extension attached to the ground plane, a dielectric layer, an antenna layer, and a battery. The dielectric layer may include dielectric material placed over the front ground plane extension. The dielectric layer may be in between the antenna layer and the front ground plane extension. The antenna layer may include a high frequency antenna element and a low frequency antenna element attached to a transmission line. The battery may be placed in between and proximity coupled to the front ground plane extension and the rear ground plane extension. The front ground plane extension, rear ground plane extension, ground plane and battery may be proximity coupled to the low-frequency antenna element.

Aperture-coupled microstrip-line feed for circularly polarized patch antenna

An aperture coupled, single fed, microstrip line feed for a circularly polarized patch antenna is provided that can transmit transmissions with a low profile, wide impedance, and axial ratio bandwidths. The circularly polarized patch antenna includes a double sided printed circuit board with a non-linear slots etched into a ground plane of one side of the printed circuit board, with a printed microstrip line printed on the opposite side of the printed circuit board. The microstrip line can be hook shaped and intersect each of the slots. The non linear slots can be radially arranged around a locus or area on the circuit board. A metal patch can placed above the ground plane and electromagnetic waves emanating from the microstrip line can couple to the patch through the non-linear strips and excite the patch such that it radiates an electromagnetic transmission.
