Slotted surface scattering antennas
Surface scattering antennas with lumped elements provide adjustable radiation fields by adjustably coupling scattering elements along a waveguide. In some approaches, the scattering elements include slots in an upper surface of the waveguide, and the lumped elements are configured to span the slots provide adjustable loading. In some approaches, the scattering elements are adjusted by adjusting bias voltages for the lumped elements. In some approaches, the lumped elements include diodes or transistors.
PLANAR FLEXIBLE RF TAG AND CHARGING DEVICE
A planar flexible ultra-wideband (UWB) RF antenna includes a flexible non-electrically-conductive substrate and at least one antenna patch having electrically conductive metal positioned on one side of the flexible non-electrically-conductive substrate and having geometry defining a wirelessly transmitted UWB signal. The antenna may electrically couple with an RF transmitter circuit formed on a second side of the flexible substrate and controlled by a microcontroller circuit, formed on the second side, to transmit a radio signal. The RF tag may include at least one decoupling circuit directly electrically connected to the RF antenna and having a decoupling frequency that is different from a transmitting frequency of the antenna. The decoupling circuit transferring power from the antenna when the antenna receives capacitive power from an external non-electrical contact charger operating at the decoupling frequency and having at least one plate of similar geometry to the at least one antenna patch.
Ingestible device with propulsion and imaging capabilities
An ingestible device comprising a capsule, a camera, an antenna, and a propulsion component id disclosed. The camera can capture images of various in vivo environments as the ingestible device traverses the gastrointestinal tract, and these images can be wirelessly transmitted to an electronic device located outside of the living body. The images may be transmitted to the electronic device for review by an operator responsible for controlling the ingestible device.

Impedance-controlled dual-feed antenna
Antenna structures and methods of operating the same of a dual-feed antenna of an electronic device are described. A dual-feed antenna includes a first antenna element coupled to a controllable circuit that is coupled a first radio frequency (RF) feed, and a second antenna element coupled to a second RF feed. The controllable circuit is configured to electrically connect the first antenna element to the first RF feed in a first antenna configuration and to electrically connect the first antenna element to ground in a second antenna configuration. During the second antenna configuration, the second antenna element is driven by the second RF feed.
