Electrically short antennas with enhanced radiation resistance
Various methods, apparatus, devices and systems are provided for electrically short antennas for efficient broadband transmission. In one example, among others, a system includes a segmentally time-variant antenna and a segment controller that can control conductivity of individual segments of the segmentally time-variant antenna. The conductivity of the individual segments is modulated to allow a pulse to propagate from the proximal end to the distal end of the segmentally time-variant antenna and impede a reflection of the pulse from propagating back to the proximal end of the segmentally time-variant antenna. In another embodiment, a method includes injecting a pulse at a first end of a segmentally time-variant antenna and modulating conductivity of individual segments to allow the pulse to propagate to a second end of the segmentally time-variant antenna and impede a reflection of the pulse from propagating back to the first end.
DIPOLAR ANTENNA SYSTEM AND RELATED METHODS
Some embodiments include a dipolar antenna system to electrically power an implantable miniature device and/or to stimulate bioelectrically excitable tissue. Other related systems and methods are also disclosed.

High-frequency signal transmission/reception device
The present disclosure relates to radio engineering, and more specifically to high-frequency (HF) signal transmission/reception devices based on photoconductive switching elements. An HF signal transmission/reception device comprises a signal electrode with matching elements disposed along an edge thereof; a ground electrode, a dielectric layer between the signal electrode and the ground electrode, photoconductive elements (PE) each electrically connected to the signal electrode and the ground electrode and arranged in a grid, an excitation signal feed point, and load elements electrically connected to the matching elements. The photoconductive elements each have a switched-off state in the absence of a control light flux and a switched-on state in the presence of a control light flux, The switched-on photoconductive elements form a reflection profile of the signal supplied from the excitation signal feed point. The distance between adjacent photoconductive elements is less than half the wavelength of the excitation signal.
Multi-channel tuner-less compact HF antenna with high elevation angle radiation
An antenna includes at least one dipole antenna comprising a pair of monopole antennas each monopole antenna includes an adjustable conductive element with one end electrically combined to an inductor and another end combined to an insulator. A support structure combined to the at least one dipole antenna positions one end of each monopole at an elevation higher than the other end of the monopole.
WIRELESS COMMUNICATION DEVICE
An RFID tag is provided as a wireless communication device that transmits and receives a communication signal. The RFID tag includes a base material, a conductor pattern including an antenna pattern provided at the base material, and a discharge auxiliary electrode. The discharge auxiliary electrode is disposed at a position where the discharge auxiliary electrode overlaps or is close to the antenna pattern in planar view, and lowers a dielectric breakdown voltage between two different opposed portions on the conductor pattern. With this configuration, ignition and combustion is prevented even in a situation in which the RFID tag is subjected to high-frequency power for heating a food item while attached to the food item.
