A device for dispensing a fluid drop-by-drop can include a fluid connector to supply the fluid to be dispensed, a pump which is fluidically connected to the fluid connector, an outlet nozzle which is fluidically connected to the pump, an actuating element, and a control unit. When the actuating element is actuated, the control unit activates the pump which pumps the supplied fluid to the outlet nozzle for dispensing drop-by-drop. The outlet nozzle has an outlet opening and a fluid channel which extends as far as the outlet opening and which, in the direction of the fluid from the pump as far as the outlet opening, has a first channel portion with a first cross-sectional surface and a second channel portion with a second cross-sectional surface adjoining the first channel portion. The second cross-sectional surface can be smaller than the first cross-sectional surface.

First and second disengaging members are movable substantially along the longitudinal direction and operable to assist with disengagement of the animal injection apparatus from the animal, once at least some of the liquid medication has been injected into the animal.

The diaphragm pumps are of a prescribed volume between 0.1 ml and 50 ml so that the amount of oral gel ejected into a dog's mouth can be determined. The outer shell is sufficiently flexible to be compressed by an animal's jaws such that the oral gel is pumped via actuation of the diaphragm pump. Gel is ejected or pumped to the teeth of the animal and in combination of sounds being generated, more or less simultaneously with the distribution of oral gel in a prescribed and measured volume.

A device for administering a fluid can include a cylinder, a piston connected to a piston rod, and a tensioning device connected to the piston rod. The tensioning device includes a ramp which is rotatable via a motor, a ramp track, and a roller which is in contact with the ramp track and which is mounted rotatably in a driver. The driver can be connected to the piston rod via a joint. In a tensioning procedure, the ramp track is rotated such that the roller runs on the region of inclination as far as the second plateau and the piston is thereby moved to its rear end position. In a dispensing procedure, the ramp track is rotated until the roller runs over a transfer region and, on account of the tensioning, is accelerated toward the first plateau and, as a result, the piston is moved toward the an dispensing end.
