Low voltage lighting assembly and system
This invention provides low voltage lighting assemblies and lighting systems that are easy to install, and are particularly useful in landscape lighting applications. Electrical connections between all components, including lighting assemblies, switches, power supplies, etc., are simplified through use of connectors. In one embodiment a lighting assembly comprises a circuit card having first and second zones, and a spanning zone that separates the first zone from the second zone by a selected distance. The electrical connectors and other elements are disposed in the first zone, and at least one lighting element such as an LED is disposed in the second zone. Installation of the embodiments requires little or no modification of the structures in which they are installed, since the spanning zone is adapted to span across the structure. The electrical connectors and other elements in the first zone are concealed by the structure, and substantially only the compact, low-profile second zone with the LED is exposed, producing a highly aesthetic result.
ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR
An electrical connector for mounting on an external circuit board includes: an insulating body having an upper receiving space and a lower receiving space; a terminal module assembled on the insulating body and including plural pin terminals, each pin terminal having a pin for mounting on the external circuit board, wherein the terminal module is capable of being modified to support 1G or 2.5G or 5G or 10G or 25G or 40G signal transmission while keeping arrangement pattern of the pins unchanged in order to be mounted on the same external circuit board.
Apparatus for receiving a plug to form an electrical connection, a method
An apparatus comprising: a socket cavity extending longitudinally and configured to receive a plug inserted longitudinally through an aperture; a first socket contact positioned within the socket cavity; an actuator configured to automatically switch the apparatus from a first configuration to a second configuration, when the plug is inserted longitudinally beyond a threshold insertion distance at which a tip of the plug has been inserted past the first socket contact and a first plug contact is positioned adjacent the first socket contact, wherein, in the first configuration, the first socket contact is laterally retracted from an insertion path of the plug through the socket cavity and wherein, in the second configuration, the first socket contact laterally extended towards the plug to form an electrical connection with the first plug contact.
