FIRE RESISTENT COMPOSITE POLE SYSTEM

A utility pole system that provides for easy temperature inspection of the fiberglass reinforced plastic utility pole. The system may include utility pole and a sleeve arranged around the pole, and a temperature sensor positioned underneath the sleeve.

ADJUSTABLE CABLE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
20230273386 · 2023-08-31 ·

A cable management system including cable support members held by cross-members to define a cable winding path. Certain types of cross-members are selectively configurable in a first angular position or a second angular position relative to each other. Certain types of mounting brackets hold the cross-members in the selected angular position. Certain types of the cable support members are positionable at any of a plurality of positions along the cross-members to size the cable winding path as desired. Certain types of cross-member support multiple pairs of oppositely facing cable support members to define multiple layers of the cable winding path.

APPARATUS FOR SECURING DEVICE TO TRANSMISSION LINES

Apparatus adapted for attachment to transmission lines, the apparatus comprising a warning marker; and a warning marker application tool for applying the warning marker to transmission lines; wherein the warning marker comprises: at least one securing means adapted to engage the transmission lines; a first handle and a second handle each connected to the at least one securing means; a spring-biased clamp means adjacent the proximal end at the least one securing means; an attachment means adjacent the at least one securing means; and wherein the application tool comprises: a base means; a first protrusion and a second protrusion each protruding from a surface of the base means; a screw mechanism attached to the base means; wherein the first protrusion and the second protrusion are each adapted to releasably engage with the first handle and the second handle respectively, to position and clamp the warning marker to the transmission lines.

Termination arrangement for an overhead electrical cable

A termination arrangement for securing an overhead electrical cable to a dead-end structure such as a dead-end tower. The termination arrangement includes a compression sheath that is configured to be disposed between a strength member and the conductive strands of the overhead electrical cable. The compression sheath mitigates damage to the strength member that may occur when an outer metallic sleeve is compressed around the conductive strands and the conductive strands are compressed against the strength member. The arrangement is particularly useful for securing overhead electrical cables having a composite strength member to a dead-end structure.

Shatter protection

Shatter protection for a high voltage apparatus with a ceramic insulator includes at least one electrically insulating tube including a plurality of holes going through an envelope surface. The electrically insulating tube has a diameter such that there is a minimum distance between the tube and the ceramic insulator when arranged concentrically. A method for producing a shatter protection includes winding a first helix shape of the electrically insulating fiber composite material at a first pitch such that there is a first gap between the winding turns, and winding a second helix shape of the electrically insulating fiber composite material onto the first helix shape in the opposite direction and at a second pitch, such that there is a second gap between the winding turns. Thereby forming a first electrically insulating tube with holes formed by the first and second gap between the winding turns.

Cover for an electrical distribution line

An electrical distribution line cover includes a sleeve defining an elongate cavity extending along the length of the sleeve that is sized to receive an electrical distribution line when the sleeve is installed on the electrical distribution line. The sleeve defines an elongate passage extending along the length of the sleeve and configured to permit passage of the electrical distribution line into the elongate cavity. A resilient clip extends around an exterior surface of the sleeve and biases the passage of the sleeve toward a closed position for inhibiting the passage of the distribution line out of the cavity of the sleeve after the sleeve is installed on the distribution line.

COMPOSITE REINFORCEMENT SYSTEMS FOR POWER TRANSMISSIONLINES, AND METHODS OF FORMING SAME
20220029405 · 2022-01-27 ·

A hybrid single or multilayer composite reinforcement system is disclosed. The system is configured to install or apply around the existing power transmission lines, for example, ACSR transmission lines for increasing ampacity and also decreasing sag of the power transmission lines. The hybrid composite system comprises a first layer, a second layer, and a composite core as a structural reinforcement component. The first layer and second layer are formed using a fiber reinforced resin composite material, comprising a basalt fiber and the structural reinforcement component is a carbon fiber. The composite core is disposed between the first layer and second layer. Further, the first layer and second layer are cured, thereby making the multilayer hybrid composite reinforcement system. The composite core, comprising for example carbon fiber, provides structural strength for the hybrid composite system. The system is novel, lightweight, fast and easy to install, long-lasting, reliable, environmentally friendly, and cost-effective.

Attachment clip, overland distribution line cover assembly, and method for installing an overland distribution line cover to an overland distribution line

An attachment clip for an overland distribution line cover includes an eye receiving an electrical line, an opening for insertion of the electrical line, an intermediate section connecting the opening with the eye, and a snap-fit member fixing the attachment clip to the overland distribution line cover.

System for monitoring overhead lines

A seal is described for sealing a fairlead of an object through a (housing) wall, wherein the seal surrounds the object with form fit at least in the area of the housing fairlead. The seal has an insulating rib encircling its circumference and a hydrophobic surface.
