Polarity reversal protection circuit
A polarity reversal protection circuit includes a MOSFET and a turn-off circuit, which turns off the MOSFET in the case of a polarity reversal. The turn-off circuit includes a detector for detecting the case in which the voltage at the source terminal of the MOSFET undershoots the voltage at the drain terminal of said MOSFET. Furthermore, it includes a quick-break switch for turning off the MOSFET in the event of detected voltage undershooting, a comparator for comparing the voltages present at source terminal and drain terminal of the MOSFET after detected voltage undershooting, wherein the output of the comparator is connected to the gate terminal of the MOSFET, a boost converter, a buck converter and a charge pump for voltage supply, and a switch for switching off the comparator.
Method and system for detecting miswiring of a power supply for a domestic appliance
A system for detecting miswiring in an AC power supply for an appliance may comprise a phase sensor sensing the phase difference between the first and a second hot line powering heavy electrical loads therebetween, and a control module coupling to the phase and voltage sensors. The control module may identify a fault condition and may disconnect different electrical loads from the power supply in the fault condition.

A surgical instrument comprising an end effector, a firing member, a motor, and a control circuit is disclosed. The end effector comprises a first jaw, a second jaw movable relative to the first jaw to grasp tissue therebetween, a staple cartridge comprising staples, a first sensor at a first position of the end effector, and a second sensor at a second position of the end effector. The firing member is movable in a firing motion to deploy the staples. The motor is configured to cause the firing motion. The control circuit is configured to receive a first output of the first sensor, receive a second output of the second sensor, and cause the motor to adjust the firing motion based on the first and second outputs. The first output is indicative of a tissue property and the second output is indicative of the tissue property.
End effector including magnetic and impedance sensors
An end effector for use with a surgical stapling instrument is disclosed. The end effector comprises a first jaw, a second jaw movable relative to the first jaw to grasp tissue therebetween, and a staple cartridge. The staple cartridge comprises staples deployable into the tissue. The end effector further comprises a magnetic sensor configured to measure a parameter indicative of an identifying characteristic of the staple cartridge, an impedance sensor configured to measure a parameter indicative of an impedance of the tissue, and a processing unit in communication with the impedance sensor. The processing unit is configured to determine a property of the tissue based on an output of the impedance sensor.
Electrical overstress protection with low leakage current for high voltage tolerant high speed interfaces
High voltage tolerant electrical overstress protection with low leakage current and low capacitance is provided. In one embodiment, a semiconductor die includes a signal pad, an internal circuit electrically connected to the signal pad, a power clamp electrically connected to an isolated node, and one or more isolation blocking voltage devices electrically connected between the signal pad and the isolated node. The one or more isolation blocking voltage devices are operable to isolate the signal pad from a capacitance of the power clamp. In another embodiment, a semiconductor die includes a signal pad, a ground pad, a high voltage/high speed internal circuit electrically connected to the signal pad, and a first thyristor and a second thyristor between the signal pad and the ground pad.
Heater status monitor
An appliance having a heater connectable to a power source to create a heater circuit is disclosed. The appliance includes a controller and a heater switch configured to be selectively closed in response to a control signal from the controller to complete the heater circuit and enable current to flow from the power source to the electric heater. The appliance further includes a heater feedback circuit comprising a plurality of resistors and configured to be connected to the power source and further configured to generate an output signal to the controller having a first state indicative of no current leakage from the heater circuit, a second state indicative of current leakage from the heater circuit where the polarity of the power source is normal, and a third state indicative of current leakage from the heater circuit where the polarity of the power source is reversed. The controller may determine whether current leakage exists in the heater circuit, regardless of the polarity of the grid lines from the power source. The controller may take various actions in response to such determination.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR CONTROLLING A SEGMENTED CIRCUIT
The present disclosure provides a method for controlling a surgical instrument. The method includes connecting a power assembly to a control circuit, wherein the power assembly is configured to provide a source voltage, energizing, by the power assembly, a voltage boost convertor circuit configured to provide a set voltage greater than the source voltage, and energizing, by the voltage boost convertor, one or more voltage convertors configured to provide one or more operating voltages to one or more circuit components.

A method for electrostatic discharge protection in a receiver and associated receiver are provided. The receiver includes a reference voltage terminal, a detection terminal, at least one set of receiving terminals and at least one set of termination resistors. The method includes: according to a voltage level of the detection terminal, generating a detection result; and according to the detection result, controlling whether to configure said at least one set of termination resistors to be respectively coupled between said at least one set of receiving terminals and the reference voltage terminal.
