Power management circuitry initiates storage of backup energy in an energy storage resource. The backup energy is stored to power an electronic circuitry during a power failure condition in which primary power is unavailable to power the electronic circuit. During a test mode, the power management circuitry selectively discharges the backup energy stored in the energy storage resource at multiple different energy discharge rates to test the energy storage resource.

System which intelligently and optimally controls power utilization from hybrid energy sources

A system for controlling power utilization from hybrid energy sources to reduce energy consumption costs and maximize use of renewable energy; the system comprises a plurality of switches for switching power between a plurality of power sources; a control unit for controlling the switches to switch between the power sources to supply power from at least one of said power sources to said loads; the control unit preventing back-feeding of power between the power sources; the control unit reducing excess power generated from multiple inverters equally or storing it in a battery bank; the control unit diverting the excess power to the battery bank in the event that loading of at least one of said power sources falls below a predetermined value.

A first battery pack includes a first battery module and a first controller. A second battery pack includes a second battery module and a second controller. The first battery pack and the second battery pack are installed to be freely attachable and detachable in relation to a main body. An activation manager performs an activation instruction such that the first controller and the second controller do not activate at a same timing. The first controller which activates earlier operates in an ordinary mode in which power is supplied from the first battery module to an AC load. The second controller which activates later operates in a standby mode in which power is not supplied from the second battery module to the AC load.

Method and system for establishing a power feed to systems during operation

A method of adding a power feed to electrical systems includes coupling a set of input lines to a power source such that the input lines are connected to at least one phase of AC power from the power source, and coupling a set of backfeed lines to an output receptacle in a power distribution unit. The output receptacle may be connected in parallel with at least one other output receptacle that is supplying primary power to systems in the data center. The set of backfeed lines and the set of input lines may be tested to determine a match between a pair of lines in the set of backfeed lines and a pair of lines in the set of input lines. Determining the match may include matching the phase of the pair of backfeed lines with the phase of the pair of input lines.
