A propulsion system includes a cylindrical shaft member coupled to a motor with a motor frame; said shaft member mechanically coupled to a disc members with radius, to rotate in a dynamically and statically balanced state with said shaft when said motor rotates; the apparatus further comprising a power source to supply power to said motor to rotate said shaft member with said disc members; each said disc members comprising an annular radial array of material segments extending radially to the radius; said material segments comprising of a material that responds to electromagnetic fields to change shape radially on said disc member; such that when power is supplied to rotate the motor, the motor rotates the disc members and when each such material segment rotates to an angular location of the shaft member relative to a fixed point on the motor frame, each said material segment is supplied with said electromagnetic field; and said material responds to said electromagnetic field to change its shape radially to a new radius different from, at said angular location, and such that the mass of said material segment is redistributed radially at the radius R2 in said material segment in said angular location; and such that the difference in centripetal forces acting on said change in radial location from R1 to R2 at said angular location creates a radial force on said shaft member in the direction of the said angular location.

The rotor (30) defines a radially extending air duct (40), which extends from an inner side (42) contacting the rotor shaft (30) to an outer side (44) facing the air gap (24). The rotor shaft (32) defines a bore (46), which is aligned with the air duct (40) such that air is flowable out of the rotor shaft (32) into the air gap (24).

Each of the plurality of printed coils includes a top layer printed coil disposed within the patterned top conductive layer and a bottom layer printed coil disposed within the patterned bottom conductive layer. Coil pitches of the coils within each roller are chosen such that corresponding ones of the plurality of printed coils in adjacent rollers are axially aligned relative to a center of the cylindrical shape.

An in-wheel motor for a vehicle includes: a stator with a connector attaching the stator to the vehicle, the connector including a shaft, an end plate of a larger diameter than the shaft, and a coolant passage through the end plate, the stator further including a hollow stator body with cylindrical outer surface and mounted to the connector. Cooling channels for circulating liquid coolant extend along the hollow stator body and are in fluid connection with the coolant supply duct, the cooling channels having an inlet for supply of liquid coolant to the plurality of channels and an outlet for discharging liquid coolant from the plurality of channels; wherein, at a side opposite from the connector member, the hollow stator body has an open end with a diameter larger than the diameter of the shaft. Also disclosed is a cooling jacket for such an in-wheel motor.

A shaft-hub connection including a hub element and a shaft element is provided. The hub element includes a hub. The shaft element includes at least one first elongated region arranged in at least one second elongated region of the hub and is at least rotationally fixed to the hub element by way of a longitudinal press-fit including the elongated regions. The longitudinal press-fit has at least one first excess region with a first excess, and at least one second excess region, following the first excess region in the circumferential direction of the shaft element, with a second excess that is smaller than the first excess.

An electromechanical linear includes a rotary shaft; a harmonic drive gear arrangement extending radially outwardly of and coaxially with the rotary shaft; an electric motor positioned radially outwardly of the harmonic drive gear arrangement, wherein the rotary shaft is configured to be driven by the electric motor via the harmonic drive gear arrangement; and an output component configured to be driven along the rotary shaft in response to rotation thereof.

ELECTRIC MOTOR AND VEHICLE

An electric motor and a vehicle are provided. The electric motor includes a metal member, a rotor core, a shaft, a conductive bearing, and an elastic conductive member. The metal member is grounded. The rotor core is disposed on one side of the metal member, and includes a shaft hole. The shaft is connected to the rotor core, and penetrates through the shaft hole. The conductive bearing is disposed on the shaft in a sleeving manner. At least a portion of the elastic conductive member is disposed between the conductive bearing and the metal member. The elastic conductive member generates compression force through elastic deformation thereof, to be in tight contact with the conductive bearing.

A drive unit includes a motor device including a motor main body, a case portion accommodating the motor main body, a pump driven by the motor main body being attachable to the case portion, and a cap portion provided on the case portion, and an operation jig attachable to and detachable from the cap portion.
