STOMACH LINING PATCH WITH CENTRAL FIXATION
A stomach lining patch includes a collapsible frame, a membrane covering the collapsible frame, collapsible frame and the membrane providing a collapsed configuration suitable for endoluminal delivery to a stomach of a patient and an expanded configuration suitable for lining an internal surface of a gastric wall of the stomach, and a set of anchoring arms extending from the collapsible frame and being configured to pass through a puncture in the gastric wall and lay flat against an outer surface of the gastric wall when the collapsible frame and the membrane are in an expanded configuration lining the internal surface of the gastric wall.
PERIANAL SUPPORT DEVICE WITH FLEXIBLE SIDE SUPPORTS
A perianal support device includes a central support element with an apex having a continuous contact surface along the apex to interface with a patient's perianal tissue. Compression elements extend laterally away from each apex side of the central support element. Each compression element may have a narrower proximal end to the central support element and a wider distal end, and be flexible to bend to the gluteal cleft anatomy. The surface of each compression element that faces the patient in use may be covered, at least partially, with a loop material on the wider distal end. Each compression element may also have the opposite surface covered, at least partially, with foam. The central support element and compression elements may be integrally formed. A gripping tab is also provided at a distal end of each compression element, providing an easy location for medical staff to grasp for placement and removal.
Wax-based compositions, articles made therefrom, and methods of manufacture and use
Oral treatment devices formed from wax-based compositions that are thermally stable when formed into a three-dimensional shape to a temperature of at least 45° C. and plastically deformable at room temperature (25° C.). The wax-based compositions include a wax fraction homogeneously blended with a polymer fraction. The wax fraction includes at least one wax. The polymer fraction includes at least one polymer selected such that, when the wax and polymer are homogeneously blended together, they yield a wax-based composition having the desired properties of thermal stability and plastic deformability. Oral treatment devices are dimensionally stable to a temperature of at least 40° C. without external support and can be plastically deformed in a user's mouth to become at least partially customized to the size and shape of user's unique dentition and/or an appliance in a user's mouth.
Intragastric device for treating obesity
A gastrointestinal device for treating obesity includes a three-dimensional porous structure configurable between a compressed pre-deployment configuration to facilitate delivery and an expanded post-deployment configuration. The porous structure includes a first opening at its proximal end and a larger second opening at its distal end. The porous structure also includes a sleeve coupled to its distal end. Optionally, the device further includes a suture at the proximal end of the wire mesh structure to facilitate retrieval and an anti-migration component positioned at the junction of the porous structure with the sleeve. The porous structure is deployed in a patient's stomach such that the anti-migration component sits proximal to the patient's pylorus and prevents migration of the entirety of the device into and through the pylorus. The sleeve extends through the pylorus, into the duodenum and ends in the duodenum or jejunum. Food enters the device from the first opening at the proximal end of the porous structure, passes through the porous structure and sleeve, and exits at the distal end of the sleeve. The device treats obesity by providing a relatively immovable volume occupying structure in the stomach and a bypass for food past the pylorus and proximal portion of the small intestine. Optionally, the device further acts to slow the passage of food through the digestive tract. Patients with the device experience satiety more quickly and have a prolonged sensation of satiety.
Data collection schemes for a medical appliance and related methods
Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a monitor device for an ostomy system. The monitor device comprises: a processor; memory; and a first interface connected to the processor and the memory. The first interface comprises a plurality of terminals and a data collector. The plurality of terminals includes a first terminal that forms an electrical connection with a first electrode of an ostomy appliance of the ostomy system and a second terminal that forms an electrical connection with a second electrode of the ostomy appliance. The data collector is coupled to the first and second terminals and comprises a data collection configured to collect data from the plurality of terminals according to a primary data collection scheme and collect data from the plurality of terminals according to a secondary data collection scheme. The primary data collection scheme is different from the secondary data collection scheme.
Abdominal instrument and method
A surgical instrument (100) for placement of a movement restriction device (10) for use in a surgical procedure for treating reflux disease in a patient. The instrument comprises a sleeve (113) and a holding device (111) configured to engage the movement restriction device, wherein the holding device is configured to be placed within the sleeve and be displaceable in relation to the sleeve. The instrument further comprises a first handling portion (101) connected to the sleeve, and a second handling portion (102) connected to the holding device. The handling of at least one of the first and second handling portion creates relative displacement of the holding device in relation to the sleeve, which disengages the holding device from the movement restriction device for performing the placement of the movement restriction device.
Taping kit and method for attaching tape to be affixed to body
A taping kit is capable of controlling a depth of a stimulation according to the purpose to structural parts from the epidermis to the dermis and fascia. The taping kit includes two or more tapes to be affixed to the body containing at least a stretchable substrate and an adhesive layer on one surface of the substrate. The taping kit includes a first tape which has a plurality of slits in a longitudinal direction, and a second tape which has a plurality of slits in a longitudinal direction and is overlapped and attached on at least a part of the first tape.
APPARATUS FOR TREATING REFLUX DISEASE (GERD) AND OBESITY
An obesity treatment apparatus comprises at least one operable stretching device implantable in an obese patient and adapted to stretch a portion of the patient's stomach wall, and an operation device for operating the stretching device when implanted to stretch the stomach wall portion such that satiety is created.
Linear motion male sexual stimulation device
An electromechanical device for male sexual stimulation that uses a reciprocal linear motion similar to sexual intercourse, and wherein the penis remains fully inserted during use. The reciprocal linear motion is generated by a small motor which drives a screw and nut mechanism, to which a bracket and gripper is attached. Inserted into the gripper is a flexible sleeve. A penis may be inserted into the device inside the flexible sleeve. The movement of the gripper and sleeve against the penis provides pressure and motion against the penis inside the sleeve in a manner similar to sexual intercourse. The speed, pattern, and location of the motion can be controlled by the user through controls on the outside of the device.
