AUTOMATIC-SEALING BALLOON-FILLING CATHETER SYSTEM
Valve assemblies for use with expandable devices that are positioned within remote cavities and more particularly relates to the catheters/conduits used to inflate these devices with fluid.
GASTRIC OUTFLOW REGULATION DEVICES AND METHODS FOR WEIGHT LOSS
A gastric outflow device is described. The gastric outflow device includes a ring having a ring aperture; and a topper having a topper aperture, the topper attachable to the ring, the topper aperture alignable with the ring aperture to form the gastric outflow device aperture. The gastric outflow device aperture can be adjusted wirelessly, percutaneously, by replacing the topper, and/or by including an expandable compartment surrounding the aperture, the expandable compartment increasing and decreasing the gastric outflow device aperture on being filled with filling material and having the filling material extracted, respectively.
OBESITY TREATMENT DEVICE AND METHOD
Disclosed are example embodiments of systems and methods for implantation in a pylorus between a stomach and duodenum for promoting weight loss. An example device for implantation in a pylorus between a stomach and duodenum includes a stomach portion configured to anchor the device in the stomach; The example device includes a pyloric portion extending from the stomach portion. The example device includes a duodenal portion extending from the pyloric portion and a channel extending in an axial direction through the stomach portion. The pyloric portion and the duodenal portion, for allowing passage of food material through the device from the stomach to the duodenum. The duodenal portion includes a portion configured to elongate in the axial direction upon compression.
TREATMENT OF GERD
The present disclosure relates to treatment of reflux disease of a human patient. More particularly, a device is disclosed, which is configured to be implanted in the body of the human to restrict movement of the cardia of the patient's stomach towards the diaphragm opening into the patient's thorax, and/or to prevent stomach contents from passing from the stomach into the esophagus.
Adjustable toe plate for an adjustable boot brace
An adjustable toe plate for an adjustable boot brace adapted to aid in stretching and supporting inflamed tissues and/or an inflamed plantar fascia within a person's foot while healing. The adjustable toe plate includes a toe plate adjustment mechanism to adjust the angle of the toe plate with respect to its foot portion, such that a person can adjust the position and angle of their toes during the healing process.
Post gastrectomy anchoring procedure
A post gastrectomy anchoring procedure comprises anchoring a sleeve created by a gastrectomy to tissue structure that can better immobilize the sleeve to reduce complications relating to mobility of the sleeve. Namely, the anchoring procedure secures one or more portions of the sleeve to retroperitoneal fat of a patient. One or more bindings attach the sleeve to the retroperitoneal fat. The bindings can be installed to hold the sleeve in a bent or other shape, such as to mimic the natural shape of the patient's stomach and maintain an opening in the angularis of the sleeve.
Modular knee extension device
A modular device is configured to provide different levels of knee extension to a patient by being moveable between an assembled or “rest” configuration and a detached or “therapy” configuration. The device includes a proximal section with an inclined upper surface and a separate distal section with an inclined upper surface. When attached, the proximal and distal sections form a single continuous incline for supporting a patient's leg. At least one of the sections also includes an ankle supporting cavity that holds the patient's ankle and heel and provides greater stretching/extension of the patient's knee.
Intergluteal hemorrhoid pad
A hemorrhoid relief product that provides an intergluteal spacer for gentle separation of the gluteal cheeks, external support of hemmorhoidal tissue with a cradling effect on inflamed or prolapsed or related perianal tissues, while providing absorption. The product optionally includes adhesive to secure the device in place. The product may include a cavity for positioning over hemorrhoidal tissue to provide pressure adjustment, and may also include at least one nub for selectively applying and/or adjusting pressure to areas. The product may include a trapezoidal, or other, cross-section for easier fit, as well as a split end for adherence to multiple gluteal cheeks and anatomy in the relevant area.
Orthopedic field splint and system and method for use of same
An orthopedic field splint and system and method for use of the same are disclosed. In one embodiment of the orthopedic field splint, a body has flexion and extension movement parallel to a longitudinal axis between a horizontal axial plane and a rolled sleeve. A coupling member is hingedly connected to the body in overlapping releasable engagement in a closed retracted position and extending beyond the body in an open extended position. A receiving pocket is connected to the body. The receiving pocket and the coupling member having mutually completing mating forms. Multiple sleeves extend longitudinally through the body and each of the sleeves is parallel to the longitudinal axis and configured to accept a rigid slat.
Magnetic Devices for Digestive Tract Partitioning
There is provided a partitioning device to partition a hollow organ of a digestive tract of a patient in the context of digestive surgeries. The partitioning device includes a magnet assembly implantable into an abdominal cavity of the patient, the magnet assembly including a plurality of magnet elements flexibly connected in series. The magnet assembly is configured to be positioned extraluminally around at least a portion of an outer surface of the hollow organ to magnetically couple opposite magnet elements together to compress opposite walls of the hollow organ therebetween until opposite walls of the hollow organ are fused together, thereby partitioning the hollow organ. The magnet elements can be received in a housing and have various shapes. The partitioning device can include additional features such as a leading elongated member that can aid in the positioning of the partitioning device, and a trailing elongated member.
