Battery and motor system for replacing internal combustion engine
A battery-powered motor may include an electric motor, a controller, and a housing. The electric motor may be wound to enable the battery-powered motor to achieve a non-limited motor maximum motor revolutions per minute (RPM) for at least one specified battery. The controlling current may include limiting current to the electric motor at lower RPMs, and limiting the current to prevent the RPM of the electric motor from exceeding a limited maximum motor RPM which is lower than the non-limited motor maximum RPM. The housing may enclose the electric motor and the controller and the specified battery. The housing may have a form factor to engage with a machine that engages with an internal combustion engine that has a maximum engine RPM that is approximately the same as the limited maximum motor RPM.
System for operating a three-phase variable frequency drive from an unbalanced three-phase or single-phase AC source
A variable frequency motor drive comprises a converter including a rectifier having an input for connection to an AC power source and converting the AC power to DC power. A DC bus is connected to the rectifier circuit. At least one bus capacitor is across the DC bus. An inverter receives DC power from the DC bus and converts the DC power to AC power to drive a motor. A controller is operatively connected to the converter. The controller comprises a speed control controlling the inverter responsive to a speed command to maintain a desired motor speed. A speed foldback control measures DC bus ripple voltage and regulates the speed command responsive to the measured DC bus ripple voltage.

A power conversion device includes a switching control unit that controls respective switching elements constituting a plurality of chopper circuits, a rectified-voltage detection unit, a bus-bar voltage detection unit, and a bus-bar current detection unit. The switching control unit includes an on-duty calculation unit that calculates a reference on-duty of respective drive pulses with respect to the switching elements based on a bus-bar voltage and a bus-bar current, an on-duty correction unit that corrects the reference on-duty to output on-duties of the respective drive pulses based on the bus-bar current, so that change amounts of respective reactor currents become substantially the same, and a drive-pulse generation unit that generates the respective drive pulses, based on the respective on-duties.
Dead time adjusting circuit
In a dead time adjusting circuit, a switch voltage appearing at a connection node between a first output switch and a second output switch, which are connected in series between two different potentials, is monitored to detect a first dead time, which is from a time at which the second output switch is turned off to a time at which the first output switch is turned on, and a second dead time, which is from a time at which the first output switch is turned off to a time at which the second output switch is turned on, each of the first and second dead times being feedback-controlled to be identical to a predetermined target value.
Engine starting system using stored energy
There is described a method and system for starting at least one engine from a twin engine installation having a first engine arrangement and a second engine arrangement. The method comprises receiving a first voltage level from a power source and increasing the first voltage level to a second voltage level; charging an energy storage unit having at least a first super-capacitor and a second super-capacitor to the second voltage level; selectively connecting one of the first super-capacitor and the second super-capacitor to a first power control unit in the first engine arrangement; controlling a discharge current to a first electric machine in the first engine arrangement via the first power control unit; and rotating a rotor of the first electric machine to an above engine idle speed to start a first engine of the twin engine installation.

Drive control method, drive system, processing system and storage medium
A drive control method is applicable to a drive system including a driver, a bus and a motor, the motor being directly connected to the bus in a first connection mode or connected to the driver in a second connection mode. The drive control method includes the driver feeding an electric signal to the motor through the output port and simultaneously detecting its own actual output feature; and the driver determining whether the output port is connected to the bus according to the actual output feature. Upon the output port being determined not to be connected to the bus, the driver starts the motor normally. Upon the output port being determined to be connected to the bus, the driver disconnects the output port. In addition, a corresponding drive system, a processing system and a storage medium are disclosed.
SUPERCHARGING SYSTEM OF INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
A supercharging system includes a supercharger including a motor generator, and an intake-side variable cam phase mechanism variably setting a valve-closing timing (IVC angle) of an intake valve. If an operation state of the engine is within a regenerative operation region, a turbine rotation speed controller controls a turbine rotation speed to a target turbine rotation speed set to optimize turbine efficiency by controlling an opening degree of a wastegate valve toward a closing side and by adjusting an amount of power generated by the motor generator. If the operation state is within the regenerative operation region and within a supercharging operation region, a torque controller controls a generated torque to a requested torque by performing cooperative control of an opening degree of an intake bypass valve, the IVC angle and an opening degree of an intake throttle valve.
