A prosthesis has a tubular body having a proximal end, a distal end, and a lumen extending through the tubular body and open at each of the proximal end and the distal end. The tubular body defines a longitudinal axis and has a first width in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal axis. The prosthesis also includes a first flange at one of the proximal end and the distal end with the lumen extending through the first flange. The first flange has a second width in the direction perpendicular to the longitudinal axis that is greater than the first width. The tubular body and the first flange form a structurally self-supporting, body compatible, and body absorbable device. The device is formed of a composite structure and is adapted for insertion into an opening through a tympanic membrane.

The present invention comprises a disposable ear brush which is an ear cleaning device comprising a one piece, flexible wire shaft that forms two twisted wire shaft arms with a plurality of soft, angled bristles disposed at each end. The twisted wire shaft and bristles may be safely inserted into the ear canal and subsequently withdrawn pulling the bristles and any collected earwax therein from the ear canal.

Interactive gaming system

An interactive gaming system for a user suffering tinnitus. The system comprises a game machine configured to provide a game scenario in which the user's performance in the game scenario is based on the user's response to audio cue arrangements comprising a combination of sounds, and where at least one of the sounds has one or more sound characteristics, that are configured based on one or more sound characteristics of the user's perceived tinnitus. The system further comprises an audio delivery device or devices that are driven by the game machine to present the audio cue arrangements to the user in accordance with the game scenario and a user interface in signal communication with the game machine and which is operable by a user to interact with the game scenario by responding to the audio cue arrangements.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CORRECTING AURICULAR DEFORMITIES

An auricular support system can include a substrate and a mold material. The substrate can include a substrate body having a first end and an opposed second end. At least a portion of the first end can be configured to carry an adhesive suitable to attach to a dermal surface. The second end defines at least one void. The mold material can be configured to be applied to both an auricular structure and the second end of the substrate body such that the mold material becomes disposed in the void and molds about the auricular structure. The mold material can be configured to cure after the mold material is applied to the auricular structure and the substrate body so as to support the auricular structure relative to the substrate. The auricular support system can further include an auxiliary support structure configured to attach to the auricular structure, such that the mold material is further configured to be applied to the auxiliary support structure so as to support the at least one auxiliary support structure relative to the substrate, and thus the dermal surface.

ACTIVITY CLASSIFICATION OF BALANCE PROSTHESIS RECIPIENT
20210402185 · 2021-12-30 ·

Presented herein are techniques for stimulating a balance prosthesis recipient based on one or more motion signals and a classification of the type of activity in which the recipient is currently participating. More specifically, a balance prosthesis system is configured to monitor the motion of at least part of a recipient's body and to determine an activity classification for the recipient (e.g., determine the “class” or “category” of the recipient's real-time motion). The recipient's motion and the activity classification are used to generate stimulation signals for delivery to the recipient.

Perfect Swab

This present patent application discloses a disposable earwax cleaning swab product that removes earwax and debris from the ear easily and safely. The disposable earwax cleaning swab product is comprised of a comfortable plastic handle with a generally spiral, tapered, pyramidal, tapered or conically twisted soft cleaning swab head. The twisted head is made up of foam material for easy and safe removal of earwax from the outer ear canal. Additionally, the earwax swab product has an ear guard which limits a depth of the swab product within the ear of the user. The earwax cleaning swab product eliminates the need for users to purchase costly replacement heads, allowing users to effectively remove a buildup of ear wax and other debris.

A device for visualizing and providing suction for a surgical procedure in an ear may include a handle, a main shaft extending from the handle, an imaging sensor at a distal end of the main shaft, a light source at the distal end of the main shaft, and a suction shaft extending from the handle. The device may also include a spring coupled with the suction shaft and/or the handle, such that when the suction shaft is advanced in a distal direction and then released, the suction shaft retracts automatically. The suction shaft may have a distal curved portion, and the device may have a thumb depress portion that allows a user to spin the suction shaft to suction in different directions. Some embodiments may include a suction shaft with a sharp distal tip that is configured for placing an ear tube in the tympanic membrane.

System and method for delivering multiple ocular implants

Systems and methods for delivering multiple ocular implants to reduce intraocular pressure are disclosed. The ocular implants can be implanted at multiple sites within a single human eye without requiring removal of the delivery apparatus from the eye. A system for delivering multiple ocular implants can include at least two implants preloaded within a delivery device and configured to be implanted within the eye, a metering device configured to transfer energy to the implants for delivery at selected locations within the eye, wherein the metering device is configured to meter a variable amount of energy for each implant delivery event in the eye. The system can further include an injector mechanism configured to serially engage and drive each of the implants.
