Wound dressing garment
A wound dressing garment is provided. The wound dressing garment includes a wearable garment including a portion having a hole configured to receive a wound dressing therein in combination with the wound dressing. The wound dressing includes a border connecting the wound dressing to the wearable garment where the border extends around the perimeter of the hole to locate the wound dressing therein. The wound dressing may include one or more additional layers including a hydrogel layer. A method for treating wound or preventing bed sores using the wound dressing garment is also provided.
WIRELESS PRESSURE ULCER ALERT DRESSING SYSTEM
A wireless pressure ulcer alert dressing system for warning a patient or caregiver that soft tissue pressure or health condition has exceeded some predetermined level that over time would necessitate moving the patient to prevent or at least reduce a risk of soft tissue damage. The dressing assembly is adapted to be applied to or near a surface of the patient's body and generate electrical outputs corresponding to soft tissue pressure and other health characteristics sensed at the surface. The dressing assembly generates output signals based on the electrical outputs and corresponding to whether or not the soft tissue pressure has exceeded a predetermined pressure level during the preselected time period. The dressing assembly includes a pocket formed therein for removable, secured and protected insertion of a variety of different sensors such as multiple pressure sensors.
GOWN SYSTEM
A gown dispenser system has a plurality of hospital gowns, each having a back region, the gowns folded and stacked back region facing up, such that, pulling on the back region of a gown on top of the stack removes that gown from the stack and exposes the back region of the next gown in the stack, an enclosure containing the stack of gowns, the enclosure having an opening exposing the back region of the gown at the top of the stack, enabling a user to grasp the exposed back region and pull the topmost gown from the enclosure, exposing the next gown in the stack, and an interface mechanism attached to the enclosure, enabling the enclosure to be suspended on a substantially vertical surface, with the opening facing outward from the substantially vertical surface. Gowns are drawn from the enclosure one-at-a-time, at need.
SILICONE WOUND CONTACT LAYER WITH SILVER
A silver-containing tissue dressing for providing antimicrobial properties to a wound site is disclosed. In some embodiments, the tissue dressing may include a wound contact layer having a substrate material coated with a tacky hydrophobic silicone material, and silver-containing particles dispersed in the silicone material. The different surfaces of the substrate material may be coated with the silicone material having various amounts of tackiness. The silver material may provide antimicrobial properties when the tissue dressing is placed in contact with the wound site.
Vital Sleeve
The present invention discloses a medical sleeve arm to protect the arm having fistula or shunt from any external assault. The sleeve is configured to be worn in arm and included an inner cushioning layer and outer durable layer to provide protection against bumps and physical damage. The medical sleeve arm further comprises means to monitor vital signs of the person that may help to detect any potential problem in the fistula or shunt. Furthermore, the vital signs monitored could be remotely communicated to a remote computing device that allows a concerned medical personal to observe the vital signs normally and during the dialysis.
Transparent Tourniquet and Bandage Material System Utilizing Absorbing Components and Treatment Gas
The present invention provides a method and device for visualizing and treating an injury, wound or skin using a visual tourniquet and skin patch system made of transparent materials. The inventive bandage system is capable of applying pressure while absorbing bodily fluids away from the wound or skin and providing support for the application of one or more medicaments or a combination of treatment gas and/or medicine. The inventive bandage system enables the practitioner to visually inspect and measure the size of the wound over time without removing or touching the bandage or tourniquet thereby reducing pain and contamination of the wound bed. One embodiment of the inventive bandage system continuously controls the wound bed temperature thereby reducing pain and inhibiting bacterial growth. Other embodiments of the inventive bandage system are used as a visual tourniquet to apply a combination of pressures to a wound or skin.
SKIN COMPRESSION DEVICE AND METHODS OF PRODUCTION AND USE THEREOF
Skin compression devices are disclosed that are formed of a shape memory material and that have multiple tensioning members. Disposal of one or more skin compression devices on the skin of a subject increases the temperature of the shape memory material and causes the tensioning members to bend inward, thereby compressing the area of skin disposed between the tensioning members; this compression shields the compressed skin from tensile loading. Methods of production and use of the skin compression devices are also disclosed.
Pull-Tab Bandage and Packaging
In aspects of a pull-tab bandage and packaging, the pull-tab bandage has an adhesive strip that includes a sterile pad, and a non-stick backing adheres to the adhesive strip and covers the sterile pad. The non-stick backing is removable from the adhesive strip for application of the sterile pad and the adhesive strip. The pull-tab bandage also has a pull-tab as an extension of the adhesive strip that extends beyond the packaging that encloses and seals around the pull-tab bandage. The pull-tab is perforated along a terminal break to separate from the adhesive strip. Upper and lower layers of the bandage packaging can be adhered together with a packaging adhesive, forming a sterile cavity around the pull-tab bandage. The pull-tab forms packaging gaps where the pull-tab extends beyond the packaging, and the packaging gaps can be sealed by the packaging adhesive to form the sterile cavity around the pull-tab bandage.
ONE-TIME USE ONLY COVER FOR MEDICAL APPLIANCE
A waterproof limb cover for preventing liquid ingress to a predefined region of a limb comprising a casing with at least one opening, into which a limb can be inserted. The casing, which is impermeable to the liquid, has at least one sealing closure mechanism to sealingly enclose a predefined region of the limb. The casing further comprises at least one predefined irreversibly rupturable region. Rupture of the irreversibly rupturable region allows removal of the waterproof limb cover from the limb, and prevents undesirable reuse of the cover.
Wound Care Accessory Device
A wound care accessory device providing pre-cut tape and an infection control barrier includes a sheet that comprises a first section and a second section. The sheet is substantially rectangularly shaped. A plurality of tape strips is disposed on and peelable from the second section of the sheet. The sheet is configured for placement proximate to a wound that requires care. The sheet provides a barrier to control infection. The first section is configured for placement of accessories used in caring for the wound. The tape strips are positioned on the second section of the sheet. The strips are configured for peeling by the user from the sheet to be used in caring for the wound.
