Relaying of missile body roll angle
09605934 · 2017-03-28 ·

A method is presented by which a missile body roll angle relative to earth coordinates can be deciphered onboard the missile from ground-data relayed to the missile during flight The present method comprises of a horizontal pair and a vertical pair of antennas on the ground and an up-down pair and a right-left pair of antennas onboard the missile. The ground to pairs signals are sinusoidally amplitude modulated in 90 phase difference between the two pairs, causing the transmitted wave polarity to rotate in the modulation frequency. A reference pulse is transmitted from the ground whenever the wave polarity vector crosses a prescribed ground antenna direction, thereby enabling the missile to measure its body up, down, right and left directions relative to earth up, down, right and left directions and to further respectively align them together.

Modulated signal generating device and wireless device

According to an embodiment, the modulated signal generating device modulates an input signal and generates an output signal. The modulated signal generating device includes a plurality of amplifiers, a combiner, a determining unit and a control signal generating unit. The plurality of amplifiers connects in parallel with one another and each configures to drive based on a control signal and to generate amplified signals. The combiner configures to combine the amplified signals and to obtain the output signal having a stepwise waveform. The determining unit configures to determine number of amplifiers to be driven based on a value of the input signal in a period shorter than a period of the input signal. The control signal generating unit configures to select zero or more amplifiers to be driven from among the amplifiers, based on the number of amplifiers determined by the determining unit, the value of the input signal, and a fluctuation in the value of the input signal, and to generate the control signal for driving the selected amplifier.

Switching interval modulation with pulse encoded transitions

A method for switching interval modulation includes modulating an RF input data signal while generating and inserting additional pulses in transitions of the data signal. The additional pulses are structured to shift transition noise into higher order harmonics. Higher order harmonics are easily filtered. The generating is conducted in the digital domain. The additional pulses can be used to simplify the transmit chain through optical modulators and improve the signal integrity over long distances, can be applied at the output of a transmitter to filter power amplifier distortion, and can be applied to non-linear RF over fiber for a distributed MIMO system.
