Transcatheter valve prosthesis having an external skirt for sealing and preventing paravalvular leakage
11717407 · 2023-08-08 · ·

A transcatheter valve prosthesis including a tubular stent includes an interior skirt or skirt portion is coupled to and covers an inner circumferential surface of the stent, and an exterior skirt or skirt portion is coupled to and covers an outer circumferential surface of the stent. A prosthetic valve component is disposed within and secured to the interior skirt or skirt portion. The interior and exterior skirts or skirt portions may overlap to form a double layer of skirt material on the stent, or may be portions of a skirt that do not overlap such that only a single layer of skirt material covers the stent. When the stent is in at least the compressed configuration, at least one endmost crown may be positioned radially inwards with respect to the remaining endmost crowns formed at the inflow end of the stent in order to accommodate the exterior skirt.

An implant can include a flexible body made of a non-bioresorbable hydrogel material. The implant can also include a radiopaque marker located within the flexible body, where the body and the radiopaque marker can be implanted in a body cavity to mark the cavity in a radiographic image of the cavity.

TRANSCATHETER HEART VALVE HAVING PARAVALVULAR LEAKAGE SEAL

A transcatheter heart valve includes a paravalvular seal that is configured for transfemoral delivery. The valve includes a frame and the seal is formed from a plurality of outwardly extending fibers.

IMPLANTABLE VEIN FRAME
20230329860 · 2023-10-19 ·

An implantable vein frame is contemplated in which two ring members are rigidly joined in spaced axial alignment via one or more interconnecting members. One of the one or more interconnecting members defines a protruding region that acts upon the implant placed within the frame and/or the vein that the vein frame is placed within to define a sinus region. The implant is placed within and scaffolded by the vein frame, and the vein frame is subsequently inserted within a vein via a venotomy, or interposed between two vein segments via vein interposition graft. The vein frame acts to support the structural integrity of the implant, and to scaffold and anchor the implant in place with the vein.

Placental tissue grafts and improved methods of preparing and using the same

Described herein are tissue grafts derived from the placenta. The grafts are composed of at least one layer of amnion tissue where the epithelium layer has been substantially removed in order to expose the basement layer to host cells. By removing the epithelium layer, cells from the host can more readily interact with the cell-adhesion bio-active factors located onto top and within of the basement membrane. Also described herein are methods for making and using the tissue grafts. The laminin structure of amnion tissue is nearly identical to that of native human tissue such as, for example, oral mucosa tissue. This includes high level of laminin-5, a cell adhesion bio-active factor show to bind gingival epithelia-cells, found throughout upper portions of the basement membrane.

A transcatheter valve assembly replacement device includes a paravalvular seal that includes outwardly extending fibers that create a seal with the annulus when the valve assembly is deployed. An inwardly extending seal is attached to an outer frame. The inwardly extending seal is engaged with prosthetic valve leaflets.

PENILE IMPLANT FOR NEOPHALLUS

According to an aspect, an implantable device for penile construction includes a penile implant having a distal portion and a proximal portion. The distal portion includes a shaft portion configured to be disposed in a neophallus. The proximal portion defines a first strut and a second strut, and the proximal portion is configured to be attached to a pelvis structure.
