Method and apparatus for multiple preambles
A digital broadcast communication system includes a transceiver configured to receive a preamble having one of at least four preamble patterns characterized by a bit pattern and a length, produce the received preamble to each of at least four preamble correlator circuits, and at each correlator circuit, compare the received preamble to a reference code pattern. If a specified level of correlation exists between the received preamble and the reference code, produce an indication that the comparison was favorable. In one embodiment, the transceiver includes 16 correlator circuits and further includes 128 preamble reference codes for detecting preambles that have control, synchronization or data content.
Offset tunable edge slicer for sampling phase amplitude modulation signals
In one example, an apparatus includes an offset tunable edge slicer having an input to receive a pulse amplitude modulation signal. The offset tunable edge slicer also has a plurality of possible offset settings corresponding to a plurality of different reference voltages of the offset tunable edge slicer. A multiplexer has an output coupled to the input of the offset tunable edge slicer and an input to receive a control signal that selects one of the plurality of possible offset settings for the offset tunable edge slicer. A phase detector has an input coupled to an output of the offset tunable edge slicer.
Manchester correlator
A system, apparatus, and related method for receiving and correlating Manchester encoded data signals includes a receiver for receiving 1090ES/ADS-B or other Manchester encoded signals. A sampler extracts and oversamples data strings from the received signals. Sample correlators compare the oversampled data strings to oversampled versions of each possible pattern for the extracted data string and determine a score indicating how closely the possible pattern (or its oversampled counterpart) matches the extracted data string (or its oversampled version) on a bitwise or symbolwise basis. The system outputs correlated and decoded data string most closely matching the extracted data string based on the set of determined scores.
RADIO FREQUENCY (RF) TRANSCEIVER AND OPERATING METHOD THEREOF
A radio frequency (RF) transceiver includes a first oscillator configured to generate a first oscillation frequency associated with an RF signal, a second oscillator configured to generate a second oscillation frequency associated with a clock frequency, a counter configured to generate a counter output signal using the first oscillation frequency and the second oscillation frequency, and a comparer configured to generate a digital output signal associated with the RF signal by comparing an output value of the counter output signal to a reference value.

Method and apparatus for adjusting a bandwidth of a sigma delta converter
A method and apparatus for adjusting a bandwidth of a sigma delta converter by adjusting a reference voltage provided to the sigma delta converter. The apparatus includes a switched capacitor digital-to-analog converter in the feedback loop of the sigma delta modulator. The sigma delta modulator determines the bandwidth mode of the converter and adjusts the reference voltage to deliver high performance functionality. In one embodiment, a multi-bit digital signal is received by the digital-to-analog converter. The reference voltage is provided to multiple capacitive circuits of the digital-to-analog converter and the capacitive circuits are activated and deactivated based on the multi-bit digital signal. The digital-to-analog converter, thus, provides a feedback analog signal using dynamic element matching.
Method for automatically removing crosstalk and an apparatus thereof
The present invention discloses a method and an apparatus to automatically remove crosstalk, which can automatically determine and set the start frequency in the G.fast system without unnecessary manual operation to automatically remove crosstalk interference between VDSL and G.fast. The present invention allows the time required to complete the setting of the start frequency in the G.fast system corresponding to each port of a unit of DPU/DSLAM equipment and the related work therefor to be reduced to less than 2 minutes. Therefore, the installation time is greatly reduced, human errors are also reduced, and the installation can be done correctly by ordinary technicians, which is advantageous to the promotion of G.fast systems.
