Resonant circuit calibration
Methods and circuitry for calibrating inductive-capacitive resonant circuits are disclosed. An example of the circuitry includes an inductive-capacitive (L-C) resonant circuit operable to receive signals in response to induced electromagnetic signals transmitted on a carrier frequency. A demodulator has a signal source and is operable to demodulate signals generated by the L-C resonant circuit. Switching circuitry is operable to inject signals generated by the signal source into the L-C resonant circuit during a calibration mode. The calibration mode is for adjusting the capacitance in the L-C resonant circuit to tune the L-C resonant circuit to the carrier frequency.
Testing system and method using electromagnetic near field measurements
A system, method and computer readable medium are provided. One system includes a transmit antenna, at least one receive antenna, and a controller configured to operate the transmit antenna and the at least one receive antenna to acquire coupled signal information from a device under test. The system also includes a processor configured to approximate a shape of a structure within the device under test using changes in resonance determined from the coupled reflected signal information and caused by different materials forming the structure.
Measuring device and a measuring method for determining an active channel
A measuring device serves to determine an active channel from a plurality of channels of known frequencies. In this context, it comprises a processor (11) which, in turn, comprises a transform unit (20). This transform unit (20) is embodied to transform the signal which contains the active channel or a signal (30) derived from this signal into a signal in the frequency domain (31). The processor (11) further contains a detection unit (28), which is embodied to detect the active channel in the signal in the frequency domain (31).
VARIABLE BLANKING FREQUENCY FOR RESONANT CONVERTERS
A power supply includes a transistor that is connected to a primary winding of a transformer. A controller controls a switching operation of the transistor by quasi-resonant switching. The controller receives a feedback voltage and adjusts the feedback voltage to adjust a blanking frequency, which is an inverse of a blanking time during which the transistor is prevented from being turned on. The controller turns on the transistor after expiration of the blanking time based on a level of a resonant ring.
Radio to tune multiple stations simultaneously and select programming segments
Techniques describe tuning a plurality of radio stations, buffering digital audio data from each tuner, recognizing programming segments in the buffer, identifying content (e.g., song title and artist) of at least some segments, selecting from among the identified segments, and providing the selected segments to a listener. In an example, at least two signals are simultaneously tuned from at least two radio stations. Digital audio data and metadata obtained from the tuning may be buffered. The buffered data may be segmented into programming segments. Information may be obtained about the programming segments. For example, a song title and artist may be obtained for a programming segment comprising a song. In another example, a second programming segment may be identified as a commercial or may remain unidentified. The obtained information identifying programming segments may be analyzed to identify listener-preferred programming segments. Preferred programming segments may then be provided to the listener.
Method and apparatus for sensing inter-modulation to improve radio performance in single and dual tuner
A method of performing alternate frequency switching in a radio includes tuning the radio to a primary frequency. A candidate alternate frequency is identified. It is determined whether the candidate alternate frequency is a third order inter-modulation artifact. Tuning is switched from the primary frequency to the candidate alternate frequency only if it is determined in the determining step that the candidate alternate frequency is not a third order inter-modulation artifact.
Drive signal control for resonating elements
In some implementations, a control system for a resonating element comprises: a resonating element being driven by an oscillating drive signal and configured to generate a sense signal proportional to an amplitude of motion; a phase comparator coupled to the resonating element and to an oscillating drive signal, the phase comparator configured to compare the sense signal and the oscillating drive signal and to generate an error signal proportional to the phase difference; an oscillator coupled to the phase comparator and configured for generating the oscillating drive signal, the oscillator configured to receive the error signal and to adjust a phase of the oscillating signal based on the error signal; and an automatic gain control coupled to the resonating element and the oscillator, the automatic gain control configured to adjust the gain of the oscillating drive signal based on the signal generated by the resonating element.
Frequency control data synchronization
In an embodiment, a circuit includes a synchronizer configured to generate a trigger signal synchronized to a reference clock. A synthesizer is configured to synthesize a signal according to frequency control data in response to the trigger signal. A radio receiver is configured to process a carrier signal according to the synthesized signal. A phase measurement unit is configured to measure a first channel frequency response based on the processed carrier signal.
User interface for a remote control application
A hand-held electronic device having a remote control application user interface that functions to displays operational mode information to a user. The graphical user interface may be used, for example, to setup the remote control application to control appliances for one or more users in one or more rooms, to perform activities, and to access favorites. The remote control application is also adapted to be upgradeable. Furthermore, the remote control application provides for the sharing of operational mode information.
System and method for retrieving information while commanding operation of an appliance
When a command key of a controlling platform is activated, the platform performs an operation to initiate a playing of media content and also initiates the retrieval of information from an information source. The information retrieved is related to the media content and is displayed in a display of the controlling platform.
