Modular Stretcher For Patient Transport Apparatus
A reconfigurable patient transport system may include a patient support apparatus and a patient transport apparatus. The patient support apparatus may include a hinge member, a left support board, and a right support board each coupled to the hinge member. The left support board may comprise a left proximal segment and a left wing segment each removably coupled to a left distal segment. The right support board may comprise a right proximal segment and a right wing segment each removably coupled to a right distal segment. The patient transport apparatus may comprise a support frame and an intermediate frame coupled to the support frame. The intermediate frame may comprise a support deck configured to support a patient. The patient transport apparatus may further comprise a left siderail bracket and a right siderail bracket each configured for engagement with one of the wing segments of the support boards.
Mounting apparatus for securing equipment to a patient transport system
A mounting apparatus for moveably securing equipment to a patient transport system, the mounting apparatus comprising: a first arm having a proximal end, a distal end and a longitudinal axis, and configured to support equipment; and a clamping system attachable to the patient transport system and configured to receive the proximal end of the first arm for removeably attaching the first arm to the patient transport system and for allowing a rotation of the first arm relative to the patient transport system between an upright position and a reclined position.

Rescue stretcher
A stretcher including a flexible base panel sized to support a person lying thereon during a rescue or extrication operation. The base panel includes a header end and an opposite footer end, and further includes a plurality of securement straps, a shoulder harness, and a leg harness coupled to the base panel to help restrain the injured person and prevent further injury that may be caused such as by having the person roll off the sides of the stretcher. The leg harness may be configured to function as a junctional tourniquet to minimize blood loss at the pelvic region in the case of severe injury to the person.
Collapsible, portable litter
A collapsible, portable litter includes a support sheet and an expandable hub assembly. The support sheet has front and rear surfaces and a plurality of handles around a perimeter. Provided to the rear surface, the expandable hub assembly includes a hub and a plurality of stiffeners originating from the hub. An associated method includes pivoting a first folding stiffener in a first direction about a first pivot axis from a folded position to an extended position, pivoting a second folding stiffener in a second direction about a second pivot axis from a folded position to an extended position, extending a first telescoping stiffener from a first stiffener base between a retracted position and an extended position and extending a second telescoping stiffener from a second stiffener base between a retracted position and an extended position.

Ambulance cot and loading and unloading system
An ambulance cot loading and unloading system for an emergency vehicle includes a base for mounting in the emergency vehicle and an arm mounted for linear movement along the base, wherein the arm configured to support a cot while the cot is being loaded into or unloaded from the emergency vehicle. The ambulance cot loading and unloading system further includes an indicator mounted relative to the arm and a control system, which is in communication with the indicator and configured to generate a status indication of the cot loading and unloading system at the indicator.

Gyroscope assisted helicopter rescue lift systems and methods
A patient litter basket spin control assembly includes a first gyroscope and a motion sensor for sensing an angular acceleration of a patient litter basket. The first gyroscope generates a counter torque to the litter basket to slow the angular acceleration of the litter basket to provide stabilization. The first gyroscope and a second gyroscope may be configured as a pair and located at opposite ends of the litter basket.
Person support apparatus with adjustable exit detection zones
A person support apparatus, such as a bed, cot, stretcher, or the like, for a supporting an occupant includes an exit detection system that has, in some embodiments, multiple user-selectable zones. An alert is triggered when the occupant crosses a boundary of the selected zone. A first zone has a boundary that is adjusted based on a condition of the person support apparatus, such as the width of the support deck or other characteristic. A second zone has a boundary that is not adjusted based on the condition of the person support apparatus, but which may have a boundary that is dependent on an initial location of the occupant when the exit detection system is armed. The initial location of the occupant may correspond to a center of gravity of the occupant.
