Provided is a knowledge extracting apparatus for extracting knowledge information related to a knowledge-extraction target from an electronic document distributed continually in a state where the electronic document is not associated with the knowledge-information extraction target. A knowledge extracting apparatus according to one embodiment is a knowledge extracting apparatus including: an information receiving section for receiving an electronic document; a knowledge extracting section for extracting a concept from the electronic document based on a target word to extract knowledge information and a clue word to extract knowledge information and forming knowledge information in which the concept thus extracted and the target word are associated with each other; a storage section for storing the knowledge information thus extracted; and an information analysis section for, after the knowledge information is stored, analyzing the electronic document based on the knowledge information in the storage section.

Methods and devices for coding point clouds using direct coding mode to code coordinates of a point within a sub-volume associated with a current node instead of a pattern of occupancy for child nodes. When direct coding is applied to two or more points in the sub-volume, the points are ordered based on one of their respective coordinate values in binary and pairwise coding of those coordinate values is carried out on a bit-by-bit basis starting from the most significant bit position. For example, the coordinate values relate to a direction in the Cartesian coordinate system, the location of the first point is represented by an x-direction coordinate value, a y-direction coordinate value and a z-direction coordinate value. The pairwise coding includes coding whether the bits are the same and, if so, coding the bit value.

Transforming character delimited values

Techniques for transforming character delimited values are presented herein. An input module is configured to read a set of character delimited values. A generation module is configured to generate a synchronization block for the set of values that includes a value selected from a byte size of the associated value and may be a flag representing a predetermined value. An output module is configured to output the synchronization block and the set of values to a binary data output stream for output in a device dependent byte order according to the respective byte sizes of the values in the set of values.
