COMPRESSION, SEARCHING, AND DECOMPRESSION OF LOG MESSAGES
20230195694 · 2023-06-22 ·

Log messages are compressed, searched, and decompressed. A dictionary is used to store non-numeric expressions found in log messages. Both numeric and non-numeric expressions found in log messages are represented by placeholders in a string of log “type” information. Another dictionary is used to store the log type information. A compressed log message contains a key to the log-type dictionary and a sequence of values that are keys to the non-numeric dictionary and/or numeric values. Searching may be performed by parsing a search query into subqueries that target the dictionaries and/or content of the compressed log messages. A dictionary may reference segments that contain a number of log messages, so that all log message need not be considered for some searches. Compressed logs may be stored and queried on the basis of log type.

A transducer system has 1) a MEMS transducer configured to produce an analog output signal in response to an incident acoustic signal, and 2) a modulator apparatus. The modulator apparatus includes an analog modulator configured to receive the analog output signal and produce a first digital signal as a function of the analog output signal. In addition, the modulator apparatus also has a digital converter configured to receive the first digital signal and produce a second digital signal as a function of the first digital signal. The analog modulator has an analog order while, in a corresponding manner, the digital converter has a digital order. Preferably, the digital order is higher than the analog order.

A system and method for storing compressed data in a memory system includes identifying user data to be compressed and compressing pages of user data to form data extents that are less than or equal to the uncompressed data. A plurality of compressed pages are combined to a least fill a page of the memory. The data may be stored as sectors of a page, where each sector includes a CRC or error correcting code for the compressed data of that sector. The stored data may also include error correcting code data for the uncompressed page and error correcting code for the compressed page. When data is read in response to a user request, the sector data is validated using the CRC prior to selecting the data from the read sectors for decompression, and the error correcting code for the uncompressed page may be used to validate the decompressed data.

Guaranteed data compression using reduced bit depth data

A method of data compression in which the total size of the compressed data is determined and based on that determination, the bit depth of the input data may be reduced before the data is compressed. The bit depth that is used may be determined by comparing the calculated total size to one or more pre-defined threshold values to generate a mapping parameter. The mapping parameter is then input to a remapping element that is arranged to perform the conversion of the input data and then output the converted data to a data compression element. The value of the mapping parameter may be encoded into the compressed data so that it can be extracted and used when subsequently decompressing the data.
