DSL line interference susceptibility
A method is presented of determining whether a digital subscriber line is susceptible to radio frequency interference. The method measures the signal to noise ratio (SNR) margin on the digital subscriber line over a number of 24 hour periods. The measured SNR margin over a given 24 hour period is then compared to a reference function of SNR margin over time (24 hours), where the SNR margin of the reference function is higher during the day and lower during the night, and also repeats daily. A measure of the interference susceptibility is generated based on the degree of similarity between the measured SNR margin and the reference function.

Disclosed is a DC circuit breaker capable of interrupting fault currents flowing in both forward and backward directions. The DC circuit breaker includes: a mechanical switch installed on a DC transmission line and being opened to interrupt a current in the DC transmission line when a fault occurs at one side or remaining side thereof on the DC transmission line; a first bidirectional switching device connected in parallel with the mechanical switch and switching currents flowing in both forward and backward directions; an LC circuit connected in parallel with the mechanical switch and including a capacitor and a reactor connected in series to induce LC resonance; a first unidirectional switching device connected in parallel with the LC circuit and switching a current to induce LC resonance; and a second bidirectional switching device connected in series with the LC circuit and switching currents flowing in both forward and backward directions.
Method for transmitting a signal via a power line network, transmitter, receiver, power line communication modem and power line communication system
A method for transmitting signals over a power line network, wherein within the power line network at least one transmitter and at least one receiver communicate via at least two channels, each channel including a respective feeding port of at least one transmitter and the respective receiving port of the at least one transmitter and transmitter including at least two feeding ports. The method: determines a channel characteristic of each of the channels; applies a feeding port selection criterion based on the channel characteristic; and selects an excluded feeding port among the at least two feeding ports based on the feeding port selection criterion, wherein the excluded feeding port is not used during further communication. A corresponding power line communication modem can implement the method.
Covered wire coupling type information communication network, electromagnetic field coupling communication method and electromagnetic field coupler
This invention relates to a covered wire coupling type information communication network, an electromagnetic field coupling communication method and an electromagnetic field coupler, which makes it possible to solve the problem with the mechanical contact system and the structure where wires are exposed in a connector. A first covered wire and a second covered wire are placed in close proximity to each other in a coupling unit, and electromagnetic coupling in the coupling unit creates a data connection between the first and second covered wire.
System, apparatus and method for transmitting continuous audio data
A system, apparatus and a method for transmitting continuous audio data configured to mitigate data discontinuities in a receiving device. The method may mitigate data discontinuities by transmitting a continuous stream of audio data that has reduced changes to the audio data characteristics. The method may transmit filler audio data when no application audio data is available. The application audio data and the filler audio data are processed to reduce changes to the audio data characteristics in each stream.
