A surgical table with independently extendable or foldable side extension platforms (side rails) allowing accommodation of patients with variable physical characteristics. Said surgical table side extension platforms may be operated manually or by electrical or pneumatic actuators and may be controlled by a local or a remote (wireline or wireless connected) controller.

System for managing patient support apparatuses and patient fall risks

A caregiver assistance system is disclosed for assisting a caregiver to ensure the beds of high fall risk patients are in desired states for reducing the likelihood of a patient falling. The system may also help the caregiver to perform rounding tasks. The system comprises a server in communication with the patients' beds and one or more mobile electronic devices (e.g. smart phones). The mobile devices receive answers to a plurality of fall risk questions and forward them to the server. The server generates a patient fall risk assessment from the answers, determines a desired state for fall-risk components of the bed if the patient fall risk assessment indicates the patient has a high risk of falling, compares the states of the fall-risk components to corresponding desired states, and issues an alert at the mobile device if any of the fall-risk components are not in their desired state.

BED DEVICE

A bed device includes: an operation section that receives an operation input; a controller that controls a movement of the bed in accordance with the operation input; a detector that detects a position of a patient on the bed; and, a limitation table that stores a limitation area set on the bed in association with a limitation content, wherein when the position of the patient detected by the detector is included in the limitation area, the limitation content is read out from the limitation table so as to control the controller in accordance with the limitation content. With this configuration, it is possible to provide a higher safety bed device which can not only notify the danger based on the bed movement but also limit the movement of the bed in accordance with the status of the patient or the bed device.

Devices and Methods to Help Prevent Decubitus Ulcers
20220347027 · 2022-11-03 · ·

This invention helps a person in bed to avoid decubitus ulcers. This device has a flexible body support structure (such as a sheet or blanket) which is automatically moved from a first configuration, which is flat, to a second configuration, which enfolds and/or wraps around a person's body. The device turns a person from lying on their first side to lying on their opposite side by: enfolding the person in the support structure; rotating or pivoting the support structure; and then releasing the person by unfolding the support structure.

Patient support apparatus and method

A patient support is provided. The patient support may include a plurality of inflatable members that raise or lower portions of the patient support based on the status of a valve assembly. The patient support may also include a plurality of inflatable members positioned at a foot end of the patient support to support lower legs of a patient including their heels. Another valve assembly is provided to control a bleed rate of air from the heal bladders.

Rear frame of electric bed

A rear frame adapted to form an electric bed with a front frame includes a fixation rack, a thigh supporting rack pivotally connected with the fixation rack, a lower leg supporting rack pivotally connected with the thigh supporting rack, a support rack located under the lower leg supporting rack and pivotally connected with fixation rack, a front extension rack, a rear extension rack, a link, and an actuator. The front extension rack is disposed to a bottom side of the thigh supporting rack, the rear extension rack is disposed to a bottom side of the support rack, the link is pivotally connected between the front and rear extension racks, and the actuator is pivotally connected between the fixation rack and the rear extension rack in a way that the lower leg supporting rack is swingable downwardly.

HOSPITAL BED HAVING MODULAR POWER/DATA HUB
20170337797 · 2017-11-23 ·

A data hub is disclosed for use with a hospital bed. The data hub may have a base mountable on the hospital bed, and a collection module dockable with the base. The base may include a stationary base housing, a power supply link extending into the stationary base housing, and a data link extending into the stationary base housing and being connectable to an external monitoring station. The collection module may include a module housing, a plurality of inlet data ports formed in the module, at least one outlet port formed in the module housing, a medium supply disposed in the module housing and connected to the at least one outlet port, and an adapter disposed in the module housing and configured to connect the plurality of inlet data ports to the data link and the power supply link upon docking of the module housing with the stationary base housing.

Apparatus and system for turning and positioning a patient

A system for use with a bed having a frame and a supporting surface includes a sheet having a bottom surface placed above the supporting surface of the bed, a top surface, and a plurality of tether straps connected to and extending from the sheet. Each tether strap is configured for connection to the bed. The bottom surface is at least partially formed of a low friction material, and the top surface is at least partially formed of a high friction material, such that the top surface provides greater slipping resistance than the bottom surface. The tether straps include at least two pairs of tether straps, with one pair connected proximate a top edge of the sheet and another pair connected proximate a bottom edge of the sheet. The sheet may further include a sliding member on the bottom surface to assist in lateral sliding of the sheet.

Patient support

A patient support includes a bladder layer with a plurality of bladders, a pneumatic supply system, and a plurality of tubes in fluid communication with pneumatic supply system. The tubes are coupled to and guided by the bladder layer so that the tubes and bladder layer may remain in close registry when being handled, for example, either during the assembly process or cleaning process.

Patient turning system

A system for turning a patient supported on a patient support apparatus includes a U-shaped frame and a rectangular frame pivotably coupled to the U-shaped frame. The rectangular frame includes first and second sheet grippers configured to removeably couple a plurality of sheets to the system and secure the patient between the sheets. The rectangular frame, the sheets, and the patient are configured to rotate at least 180 degrees relative to the U-shaped frame after the U-shaped frame, the rectangular frame, the sheets, and the patient are raised at least a clearance distance above the patient support apparatus.
