NFC DEVICE DETECTION

A near-field communication circuit of a first NFC device alternates, in low power mode, between: first phases of emission of field bursts and second phases spanning an entire duration separating two successive first phases. Each second phase includes a field detector enabling phase. In one implementation, the field detector enabling phase extends all along a duration of the second phase. In an alternate implementation, the field detector enabling phase is interrupted by field detector disabling phases. Each field detector disabling phase has a duration shorter than a minimum duration of each first phase.

The present disclosure concerns an electronic device connected to an antenna. The electronic device delivers a first amplitude-modulated analog signal of a signal captured by the antenna, the capture signal associated with an electromagnetic field exhibiting intervals at a minimum level. The electronic device includes a first circuit, a second circuit, and a third circuit. The first circuit delivers a second analog signal by rectification and filters the first analog signal. The second circuit delivers a first binary signal based on the demodulation of the second analog signal. The third circuit couples the antenna to a resistor during each pause. The resistance value of the resistor depends on the maximum amplitude of the electromagnetic field before the pause.

Systems and methods for fast AGC convergence using high-speed interface between baseband and RFIC

With advanced compute capabilities and growing convergence of wireless standards, it is desirable to run multiple wireless standards, e.g., 4G, 5G NR, and Wi-Fi, on a single signal processing system. Automatic gain control (AGC) is a process of converging on a gain level for optimum signal reception considering the dynamic range of all the components in the receive chain, including analog and digital parts. For certain wireless standard such as Wi-Fi, AGC is required to complete within a short interval. Both RF and baseband gains have to be adjusted within this short time. Discloses in the present disclosure are embodiments of a high-speed and low pin-count interface between an RF circuit and a baseband circuit for AGC communication. The high-speed interface provides a light-weight serial protocol over one or more low-voltage differential signaling (LVDS) channels to meet a low-latency requirement for gain updates.
