An electronic device for transmitting, to a cover device, data acquired from an external electronic device, on the basis of identification information of the cover device, and a control method are disclosed. An electronic device according to various embodiments of the present document comprises: a housing; a first antenna and a second antenna which are accommodated in the housing; a first wireless communication circuit set to provide first wireless communication by using the first antenna; a second wireless communication circuit set to provide second wireless communication by using the second antenna; and a control circuit accommodated in the housing and operably connected to the first wireless communication circuit and the second wireless communication circuit, wherein the control circuit detects coupling between a cover device, which can be coupled to one side of the electronic device, and the electronic device, and the cover device includes a third antenna and a third wireless communication circuit set to provide the first wireless communication by using the third antenna, and can be set to: acquire, through the first wireless communication circuit, identification information related to the cover device from the cover device at least on the basis of the detection; acquire, through the second wireless communication circuit, data corresponding to the identification information from an external electronic device; and transmit, through the first wireless communication circuit, the acquired data to the third wireless communication circuit included in the cover device.

MAGNETO-INDUCTIVE CHARGING AND COMMUNICATION IN ELECTRONIC DEVICES
Methods and devices useful in performing magneto-inductive charging and communication in the absence of a cellular and/or internet network connection are provided. By way of example, an electronic device includes inductive charging and communication circuitry configured to receive a signal configured to induce a charging function based at least in part on an inductive coil coupled to the inductive charging and communication circuitry. Inducing the charging function includes charging an energy storage component of the electronic device. The inductive charging and communication circuitry is also configured receive an indication to switch from the charging function to a communication function. The communication function is based at least in part on the inductive coil. The inductive charging and communication circuitry is further configured establish a communication link between the electronic device using the inductive coil to transmit and receive communication signals.

There is provided a wireless power transfer system comprising a power transmitter for providing power to a power receiver via an inductive power signal which comprises a power transmitter which in turn comprises a transmitter resonant circuit comprising a power transmitting inductor having a transmission resonance at a first frequency and arranged for generating the power transfer signal, the power transmitting inductor being arranged to be magnetically couplable to a power receiver inductor in the power receiver, a power transmitter driver, operably coupled to the power transmitter resonant circuit and arranged to generate a drive signal for the power transmitting inductor, a transmitter communication resonant circuit, different from the transmitter resonant circuit and directly or capacitively coupled to the power transmitting inductor, being arranged to establish a transmitter communication resonance at a second frequency, different from the first frequency, for communications, wherein the power transmitting inductor participates in both transmission and transmitter communication resonances and wherein the transmitter and transmitter communication resonant circuits are arranged to be able to exhibit both first and second resonances simultaneously.

A wireless power feeding system comprising a power feeder and a power receiver including a power reception coil, a power reception circuit unit for recovering energy generated in the power reception coil, and an internal secondary battery for storing energy. Electric energy is supplied from the power feeder to the power receiver by means of electromagnetic induction using a resonance phenomenon. The power receiver has an outer shape identical to that of a conventional battery, and has a power receiver housing accommodating the power reception coil, the power reception circuit unit, and the internal secondary battery. Further, the power receiver has two electrodes disposed in positions identical to those of the conventional battery. Further, the power feeder includes a power feeding base on which the power receiver can be mounted.

Disclosed is a method of gathering data from a hybrid RFID chip to determine usage of an item or article of clothing using a mobile device like a phone, laptop, or tablet. The hybrid RFID chip consists of a processor, a memory, a radio transceiver, a power harvesting antenna, and an impedance circuit that converts ambient radio frequency (RF) energy to electrical energy. The RFID chip receives a first power level from ambient RF energy and periodically broadcasts an identity. The mobile device can receive the broadcast identity, store the identity, transmit the identity and location to a remote server, and receive a notification message from the remote server. The remote serve can determine usage of the item or article of clothing by comparing current records to previous records of RFID chip identity, location, and mobile device application identity.

An output system includes circuitry to generate information on a character string in response to an authentication request including user identification information transmitted from an output apparatus. The circuitry further transmits the information on the character string to an information processing device. In response to receiving the information on the character string and the user identification information from the output apparatus that has received the information on the character string and the user identification information from the information processing device, the circuitry further performs authentication for a user identified by the user identification information, based on the information on the character string and the user identification information, and transmits an authentication result to the output apparatus.
