The present invention relates to a transfer assembly for transferring a preterm baby from a natural womb of a pregnant mammal to a transfer bag, comprising abase device having a pass-through opening configured to allow the preterm baby to pass through the base device, and wherein the base device is connected to a birth canal retractor, said birth canal retractor comprises a flexible sleeve disposed between the base device and an adjustable access ring, which retractor is to be inserted into the birth canal of the pregnant mammal at least with the access ring thereof, and wherein the access ring is configured to be expanded or inflated while in the birth canal, wherein the assembly further comprising a transfer device comprising the transfer bag, said transfer bag being a flexible bag provided with an opening configured to allow the preterm baby to be received in the transfer bag, and wherein the opening is further provided with a coupling member, which coupling member is releasably secured to the base device, and wherein the transfer bag is provided with at least one integrated glove for receiving the hand of a medical practitioner in order to allow the transfer the preterm baby from the natural womb into the transfer bag.

An incubator includes a sensor configured to measure a temperature of a baby. The incubator also includes a temperature control device configured to modify a temperature of an environment. The incubator also includes a computing system configured to obtain a first desired environmental temperature (DET) for the baby. The computing system is also configured to obtain a DET zone for the baby based at least partially upon the first DET. The computing system is also configured to control the temperature of the environment with the temperature control device during a first period time based at least partially upon the first DET, the DET zone, or both. The computing system is also configured to compare a second DET to the first DET, the DET zone, or both. The computing system is also configured to trigger an alarm in response to the comparison.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING AIR TEMPERATURE IN AN INCUBATOR

An incubator includes a sensor configured to measure a temperature of a baby. The incubator also includes a temperature control device configured to modify a temperature of an environment. The incubator also includes a computing system configured to obtain a first desired environmental temperature (DET) for the baby. The computing system is also configured to obtain a DET zone for the baby based at least partially upon the first DET. The computing system is also configured to control the temperature of the environment with the temperature control device during a first period time based at least partially upon the first DET, the DET zone, or both. The computing system is also configured to compare a second DET to the first DET, the DET zone, or both. The computing system is also configured to trigger an alarm in response to the comparison.

An infant care station is described herein that can include a wall of the infant care station, wherein the wall includes a primary latch and at least one secondary latch that includes a hinge with at least one bottom pin and at least one top pin, wherein the infant care station is an incubator, a warmer, or a combination thereof. In some examples, one or more pin acceptors are proximate the hinge, wherein the one or more pin acceptors hold the at least one bottom pin and the at least one top pin of the hinge in a closed position of the wall, and wherein the at least one top pin of the wall is released from the one or more pin acceptors in response to a force applied to the wall.
