Device having an artificial gills system and use thereof for supporting a newborn
A device and a method for supporting a human being, preferably a premature infant between the 21/0 and 28/0 week of pregnancy (SSW), The device comprises at least one through-flow system, comprising a number of fluid-permeable elements and connecting elements for the connection to an umbilical arterial catheter and an umbilical. venous catheter and a through-flow lumen for passing modified amniotic fluid enriched with oxygen or an oxygen-containing gas mixture through the fluid-permeable elements, and at least one connection for introducing the modified amniotic fluid into the through-flow system. The through-flow systema is configured in such a way that the modified amniotic fluid is guided through the fluid-permeable elements of the through-flow system while the fetal blood is passed along the outer side of the fluid-permeable elements, but directed past the through-flow lumen, whereby a gas exchange occurs.
Zone heating for respiratory circuits
Some embodiments provide for an inspiratory limb for a breathing circuit that includes a first segment that comprises a first heater wire circuit and a second segment that comprises a second heater wire circuit. The inspiratory limb can include an intermediate connector that includes a connection circuit that electrically couples the first heater wire circuit to the second heater wire circuit. The inspiratory limb can be configured to operate in two modes wherein, in a first mode, electrical power passes through the first electrical connection to provide power to the first heater wire circuit without providing power to the second heater wire circuit, and in a second mode, electrical power pass through the first electrical connection to provide power to both the first heater wire circuit and the second heater wire circuit.

MRI Transfer Assembly
The present disclosure relates to a transfer cart suitable for use in association with an MR scanner. The transfer cart may include a transfer table assembly coupled to the support frame such that the transfer table assembly and the horizontal support structure portion of the support frame extend substantially perpendicularly from the vertical support structure of the support frame and in substantially parallel planes to each other. The transfer table assembly may be maintained at substantially the same vertical level of a scanning bore of an MR scanner. The transfer cart may include a frame designed to dock with the MR scanner.
NEWBORN SUPPORT DEVICE AND RESUSCITATION DEVICE
A newborn support device for supporting a newborn in close proximity to the mother is provided. The newborn support device has a support platform for receiving thereon the newborn in an almost fully supported manner. The platform is provided with an elongated slit which is accessible from a side of the platform and extends through the platform from the top surface to a bottom surface of the platform. The slit enables resuscitation of the newborn on the platform with delayed cord clamping. In another aspect the invention relates to a resuscitation device having resuscitation means connected to such a support device.

Heat control device for an incubator for infants, incubator and method for the heat control of an incubator
An infant incubator heat control device includes a temperature-detecting device providing chamber interior and incubator heater temperature measured values. A first mode of operation has an interior temperature set value, a temperature of the heater set value is calculated as a function of the interior temperature set value and of the chamber interior temperature measured value. A controlled variable is calculated for the heater as a function of the temperature of the heater set value and of the heater measured value. A second mode of operation calculates a temperature of the heater set value independently of the chamber interior temperature measured value. A controlled variable is calculated for the heater as a function of the set value for the temperature of the heater and of the heater temperature measured value.

PCM-BASED HEAT EXCHANGER AND USES THEREOF
A PCM-based heat exchanger is disclosed, said phase change material (PCM)-based heat exchanger comprising: a) a case having insulated walls comprising an inlet and an outlet; and b) a plurality of modules comprising a support structure containing a phase change material, wherein said modules are arranged within said case in a way as to define a fluidic path connecting said inlet with said outlet. Another object relates to an apparatus, wherein said apparatus is an incubator, such as an infant incubator or a chicken/eggs incubator, or a glove box, characterized in that it comprises the PCM-based heat exchanger operatively connected with a hood defining an insulating compartment, a fan adapted for injecting an air flow into said PCM-based heat exchanger and a system to regulate the air temperature inside the hood.
Neonatal incubator system with improved enclosure
A neonatal incubator system includes a platform configured to support a neonate and an enclosure supported above the platform and configured to create a chamber around the neonate. The enclosure includes a movable side panel on a side of the enclosure openable to place the neonate on the platform enclosable to secure the neonate within the chamber. The enclosure also includes a latch engageable when the movable side panel is in a closed position and configured to maintain the movable side panel in the closed position, and also includes a biasing device configured to force the movable side panel away from the closed position when the latch is not engaged.
