Transmission power compensation by attenuation mapping in 5G and 6G

For improved messaging reliability in 5G and 6G, mobile users and their base stations can adjust their transmission power according to the current location of the mobile user. Each entity can maintain a map of known attenuation values, including “dead zones”, and can adjust their transmission power and/or reception gain to compensate. Instead of constantly exchanging location-update messages, the users can indicate their speed and direction, and the base station (or other users) can extrapolate the location versus time to determine a future location, and thereby determine the attenuation factor at the new position. In addition, the base station can use a map to follow the mobile user device's progress, and can thereby update the attenuation factor in real-time. If the mobile user makes a change, it can inform the base station at that time, or during initial access. Result: improved reliability, lower energy consumption, improved traffic safety.

Enabling use of non-volatile media—express (NVME) over a network

Enabling a protocol for efficiently and reliably using the NVME protocol over a network, referred to as NVME over Network, or NVMEoN, may include an NVMEoN exchange layer for handling exchanges between initiating and target nodes on a network, a burst transmission protocol that provides guaranteed delivery without duplicate retransmission, and an exchange status block approach to manage state information about exchanges.

Transmitting apparatus, receiving apparatus, and transmission system

A transmission device includes a frame processing unit, a redundant channel processing unit, a transmission and reception unit, and a channel selection unit. The frame processing unit generates division frames, adds error detection signals to the division frames, and outputs the division frames to which the error detection signals are added to a plurality of data channels. The redundant channel processing unit generates, from the division frames, one or more redundant frames including restoration information that enables restoration of the division frames, and outputs the generated redundant frames to a data channel. The transmission and reception unit outputs the division frames and the redundant frames to a transmission line. The channel selection unit allocates the division frames and the redundant frames to allocable transmission and reception units.

A method in a first wireless device (WD) supporting wireless communication with a second WD is described. A plurality of wireless packets is received from the second WD including at least a first wireless packet. At least another wireless packet of the plurality of wireless packets is one of a retry packet and a repeat packet of the first packet. Each wireless packet of the plurality of wireless packets includes a plurality of bits and a first group of bits. For each received wireless packet, the plurality of bits corresponding to the received wireless packet is de-spread, and the first group of bits is correlated with a predetermined group of bits. The method further includes performing a majority vote based on the correlation of the first group of bits of each received wireless packet and creating a corrected packet based in part on the majority vote.

Introduced here is at least one technique to better estimate interference at a receiver. The technique includes receiving a plurality of reference signals, which each have information indicative of noise. Thus, the technique further includes, for each reference signal, determining a noise estimation and determining a distance metric and log-likelihood ratio (LLR) of the noise estimation. Once the distance metric and LLR of each reference signal is determined, the receiver can determine a final LLR based on the distance metric and LLR of each reference signal. In this manner, a final LLR is determined. This technique can be applied by any device operating on MIMO technology.
