MEDICAL TECHNOLOGY STATION AND METHOD OF USE

A medical station includes a movable cart and a cassette system. The cassette system including a frame, a plurality of lockable drawers slidably mounted to the frame, and a graspable handle configured for movement between a closed position where the handle is not accessible or graspable by a user and a released position.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DETECTING AND IDENTIFYING ARCING BASED ON NUMERICAL ANALYSIS

Method and system allowing more accurate detection and identification of unwanted arcing include novel processing of signal voltage representing recovered power-line current. In one implementation, arc-faults are detected based on numerical analysis where individual cycles of line voltage and current are observed and data collected during each cycle is processed to estimate likelihood of presence of arc-event within each individual cycle based on pre-defined number of arc-events occurring within pre-defined number of contiguous cycles. In another implementation, fast transient current spikes detection can be done by: computing difference values between consecutive line-current samples collected over a cycle, average of differences, and peak-to-peak value of line-current; comparing each difference value to average of difference; comparing each difference value to peak-to-peak value; and, based on calculation of composite of two comparisons, using thresholds to determine if arcing is present within processed cycle.

HOSPITAL HEADWALL COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

A patient support apparatus includes a first transceiver adapted to wirelessly communicate with a second transceiver of a headwall interface that is positioned off of the patient support apparatus. A communication link is automatically established between the first and second transceivers without requiring a user of the patient support apparatus to activate a designated control and without requiring the user to identify the headwall interface. The first transceiver includes a unique identifier assigned to the headwall interface in its messages to the headwall interface. The first transceiver may also automatically transmit a disconnect signal to the headwall interface indicating the termination of the communication link is not accidental. The disconnect signal is sent based on one or more of the following: (1) a brake being off, (2) an A/C power cord being unplugged; and/or (3) a signal strength between the transceivers decreasing.

System for Predicting Departure from an Origin Based on External Factors

One embodiment of a monitoring system includes a sensing subsystem adapted to sense an external parameter within a region of interest relative to an occupant support or an occupant of the occupant support. The monitoring system also includes a processor. The processor is adapted to adapted to receive data representing the sensed external parameter and to execute machine readable instructions thereby causing the monitoring system to evaluate, based on the received data, a likelihood that the occupant will attempt an egress from the occupant support. The processor is also adapted to generate a notification of the likelihood of attempted egress.

Incoming call signal reception means receives an incoming call signal including a caller number, caller information, and ring type information. Image generation means generates, based on the incoming call signal, a caller information image including at least a portion of the caller information as character information. Telephone dictionary registering means registers the caller number, caller text information, and the caller information image in a telephone dictionary. Incoming call screen display means receives the caller number and acquires the registered caller text information and the caller information image corresponding to the received caller number from the telephone dictionary. Incoming call screen display means displays an incoming call screen including the caller text information and the caller information image.

MANIFOLD CABINET AND METHOD OF OPERATION

A manifold cabinet is disclosed herein. The manifold cabinet includes a support plate having a support surface statically supporting a plurality of manifold components, the support surface coupling first and second connection surfaces to each other, the connection surfaces transverse to the support surface, and a cabinet front defining a void within which the plurality of manifold components reside. The cabinet front includes walls that define a first space and a cabinet door. The walls are removably couplable to the connecting surfaces of the support plate, the walls defining a plurality of voids, wherein, one or more ports of the manifold components extend through the plurality of voids and outside the manifold cabinet. The cabinet door is hingedly connected to the walls and extends between an open position to a closed position, wherein in the closed position, the walls, the cabinet door, and the support plate define an enclosed space.

Medications Dispensing Cart

An medications dispensing cart for dispensing medications includes a cabinet that has a front, a back, a left side, a right side, a top and a bottom defining an internal space. A pair of left walls and a pair of right walls are positioned in the internal space. Drawers are positioned between and slidably coupled to each of the pairs of walls. Rollers are coupled to the bottom and a cooler is positioned in the top. A light, operationally coupled to a power module, is extendable from the interior space through a complimentary aperture in the top. Electronic locks, controlled by a keypad, are coupled to the drawers. A manual lock also is coupled to each of the drawers. A pill manipulator that is capable of cutting and crushing pills is positioned on the top.

Medication management and reporting technology

Medication management and reporting technology, in which output from at least one sensor configured to sense physical activity in a building in which medication of a patient is located is monitored and a determination is made to capture one or more images of the medication based on the monitoring. A camera is used to capture an image of the medication and the captured image is analyzed to detect a state of the medication. Information regarding a schedule by which the medication should be taken by the patient is accessed and an expected state of the medication is determined. The detected state is compared with the expected state and a determination is made that the patient has departed from the schedule based on the comparison revealing that the detected state does not match the expected state. A message indicating the departure from the schedule is sent based on the determination.

Suspension arm

An apparatus comprising an arm with a depending hollow attachment housing, into which is inserted a corresponding attachment portion of a depending device. The housing and attachment portion both have corresponding openings which come into alignment when the attachment portion is inserted into the housing. The apparatus comprises a securing segment which passes through the aligned openings in the housing and attachment portion to prevent the vertical separation of the housing and attachment portion, and a sleeve which surrounds the housing and is vertically moveable between a first position wherein it exposes the openings and securing segment and a second position wherein it covers the securing segment thereby preventing the securing segment from becoming dislodged. The housing comprises a removable delimiter which reduces the allowable vertical movement of the sleeve so that its vertical movement is restricted so as to prevent the sleeve adopting its first position.
