Wireless devices and systems including examples of cross correlating wireless transmissions
Examples described herein include systems and methods which include wireless devices and systems with examples of cross correlation including symbols indicative of radio frequency (RF) energy. An electronic device including a statistic calculator may be configured to calculate a statistic including the cross-correlation of the symbols. The electronic device may include a comparator configured to provide a signal indicative of a presence or absence of a wireless communication signal in the particular portion of the wireless spectrum based on a comparison of the statistic with a threshold. A decoder/precoder may be configured to receive the signal indicative of the presence or absence of the wireless communication signal and to decode the symbols responsive to a signal indicative of the presence of the wireless communication signal. Examples of systems and methods described herein may facilitate the processing of data for wireless communications in a power-efficient and time-efficient manner.
I/Q imbalance compensation
The disclosure relates to technology for compensating for I/Q imbalance. An apparatus includes I-path circuitry having a first analog filter configured to filter an I-path signal and Q-path circuitry having a second analog filter configured to filter a Q-path signal. An I/Q imbalance compensation circuit of the apparatus is configured to process digital versions of the I-path signal and the Q-path signal to compensate for mismatch between the I-path circuitry and the Q-path circuitry. A first circuit of the apparatus is configured to apply a coarse adjustment to at least one of the first analog filter or the second analog filter to reduce an initial mismatch between the I-path circuitry and the Q-path circuitry. The first circuit is configured to operate the I/Q imbalance compensation circuit to compensate for a residual mismatch between the I-path circuitry and the Q-path circuitry with the coarse adjustment applied.
WI-FI FREQUENCY ADJUSTMENT FOR SPUR MITIGATION
An apparatus of a Wi-Fi station (STA), the apparatus including a radio frequency (RF) interface, and one or more processors coupled to the RF interface configured to: receive a first periodic training field and a second periodic training field of a preamble of a data packet; compare the first periodic training field of the preamble with the second periodic training field of the preamble; determine a first spurious tone parameter based on the comparison; receive a transmission frame of the data packet; determine a second spurious tone parameter based on the transmission frame of the data packet; and generate a frequency adjustment based on the first spurious tone parameter and the second spurious tone parameter.
Method, system and apparatus for extending transmission delay in clear channel assessment
A method comprising extending a transmission delay caused by a clear channel assessment check delaying a communication between an access point and a user equipment over an unlicensed transmission link beyond a start of an earliest possible subframe/slot with useful data, the transmission delay being extended till a defined period from a start of a subframe/slot.
Receiver with coherent matched filter
In one implementation, a receiver has a module to calculate the cross-correlation between a portion of a digital representation of a received signal and a reference signal. The receiver also has a module to generate an estimate of a portion of a message potentially included in the digital representation of the received signal and a screening module to determine the likelihood that the received signal includes a message. For a received signal that is determined likely to include a message, the receiver includes a carrier refinement module to shift the frequency of carrier pulses in the digital representation of the received signal toward a desired frequency and to align the phase of carrier pulses in the digital representation of the received signal with a desired phase and a coherent matched filter to recover the message from the digital representation of the received signal.
Method and apparatus for supporting uplink transmission and MBMS for a WTRU with reduced bandwidth
A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) is configured to determine a frequency location of a reduced frequency bandwidth within a full system frequency bandwidth for an uplink transmission. The reduced frequency bandwidth is based on a received MTC physical downlink control channel. The WTRU is configured to determine a frequency location of an uplink resource in a first subframe based on at least one of a subframe number of the first subframe, a transmission repetition number associated with the first subframe, or a coverage enhancement level of the WTRU. The WTRU is configured to send a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) transmission in the uplink resource in the first subframe in a same frequency location in both slots of the first subframe. A format of the PUCCH transmission is limited to a subset of PUCCH formats available for a WTRU operating in the full system frequency bandwidth.
Reuse of transmission resources for device to device communication
The present invention provides a method of determining a transmission power for device to device, D2D, transmissions between a first user equipment device and a second user equipment device using transmission resources being used for transmissions to a cellular network entity by a third user equipment device, the method comprising determining a measure of a path loss between the cellular network entity and the first user equipment device, and using the measure of the path loss to determine a maximum transmission power such that the D2D transmissions are received at the cellular network entity with a signal level around or below a noise level.
Enhanced preamble waveform for coexistence
Methods, systems, and devices are described for wireless communication at a device. A Long Term Evolution Unlicensed (LTE-U) device may transmit an enhanced preamble that may be understood by Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) devices, in addition to conveying a characteristic that is detectable by receiving LTE-U devices. The transmitting LTE-U device may generate the enhanced preamble by generating a first training field and a second training field. The characteristic that is detectable by receiving LTE-U devices may be a phase shift between the first and second training fields. Additionally or alternatively, the characteristic may be a sequence or tone mapping of the first or second training field. In some cases, the transmitting LTE-U device may introduce a third training field to the preamble which serves as the characteristic.
