The present disclosure relates to systems, non-transitory computer-readable media, and methods for improving and streamlining user engagement with co-users within a networking system. For instance, the user engagement system can detect co-user engagement with a user of a networking system. Based on one or more metrics, such as characteristics of the engaging co-user, the type of detected co-user engagement, or engagement history with the user, the user engagement system can rank, prioritize, and/or aggregate the engagement notifications. For example, the user engagement system can prioritize message requests from co-users with whom the user has not actively engaged on the networking system. In another example, the user engagement system can filter messages from co-users with whom the user has actively engaged in to one of multiple message repositories.

One example method of operation may include identifying, via a bot, a query to retrieve content information in a content sharing forum, transmitting the query with the content information to a number of other bots, and each of the number of bots are associated with respective different content sharing forums, creating a number of queries based on the query, transmitting the number of queries to a respective number of caches associated with the respective different content sharing forums to identify whether relevant information associated with the number of queries is available for retrieval, receiving a number of results based on the number of queries, ranking the number of results to determine relevancy of the number of results, selecting the higher ranked results of the number of results, and creating one or more messages in the content sharing forum with at least one of the higher ranked results and links to the higher ranked results.

A method and apparatus for representing a conversation of related messages is provided. In a message collection user interface for displaying messages sent and received by a communications device, a dynamic session placeholder is used for a respective conversation of related messages. The message collection user interface is displayed including any dynamic session placeholders in the list of messages. As messages from the conversation are occasioned, the dynamic session placeholder is updated. When the message collection is displayed, it is displayed in accordance with the updated session placeholder.

In one embodiment, a method for generating a message to a friend of a user is provided, comprising: processing activity data of a first user measured by an activity monitoring device to update a value of an activity metric for the first user; identifying a change in an inequality relationship between the value of the activity metric for the first user and a value of the activity metric for a second user; in response to identifying the change in the inequality relationship, prompting the first user to generate a message to the second user.

In one embodiment, a method for generating a message to a friend of a user is provided, comprising: processing activity data of a first user measured by an activity monitoring device to update a value of an activity metric for the first user; identifying a change in an inequality relationship between the value of the activity metric for the first user and a value of the activity metric for a second user; in response to identifying the change in the inequality relationship, prompting the first user to generate a message to the second user.

When sharing events between users, the sharing users and the recipient users often have different relationships with details of the events. A method a method for steganographic text encoding, includes converting a message text received from a server into a plurality of binary values. The text of the document represented by the plurality of binary values is broken up into a sequence of words having a size of n+1. Each of the words contains at least 3 letters. The words are encoded by changing letter spacing by decreasing or increasing the letter spacing from the initial spacing. If a respective word represents one, the letter spacing is increased by a first predefined value. If the respective word represents zero, the letter spacing is reduced by the first predefined value. If the respective word follows n-m, the letter spacing is increased or reduced by a second predefined value, different from the first predefined value.
