Electronic tool and methods for meetings

An electronic meeting tool and method for communicating arbitrary media content from users at a meeting includes a node configuration adapted to operate a display node of a communications network, the display node being coupled to a first display. The node configuration is adapted to receive user selected arbitrary media content and to control display of the user selected arbitrary media content on the first display. A peripheral device adapted to communicate the user selected arbitrary media content via the communications network is a connection unit including a connector adapted to couple to a port of a processing device having a second display, a memory and an operating system, and a transmitter. A program is adapted to obtain user selected arbitrary media content, the program leaving a zero footprint on termination. The user may trigger a transfer of the user selected arbitrary media content to the transmitter.

Sharing events with structured metadata

When sharing events between users, the sharing users and the recipient users often have different relationships with details of the events. An event structurer enables sharing users to share events via a single user interface with recipients and tailor what aspects of the events are shared, thus ensuring the relevant portions of the events are properly presented to new recipients based on their new relationship with the event's details.

VIDEO CALL METHOD AND APPARATUS

This application provides a video call method and apparatus. The method includes: identifying at least one unread voice message in instant communication content during a video call; determining priority of each of the at least one unread voice message; determining, based on the priority of each unread voice message, a target voice message, where the target voice message is an unread voice message with a highest priority among the at least one unread voice message; and playing the target voice message in a target channel.

Enhancing performance of message search and retrieval

A message management service can enable a client to search and retrieve of messages from one or more messaging services. The message management service can stage delivery of results to the client to reduce response time for identification of messages satisfying a query. Initially, the message management service can send information descriptive of results, which the client can display. The message management service can send subsequent responses including supplemental information associated with a result and/or actual messages.

Dual fallback hardened VoIP system with signal quality measurement

A system is presented that includes secure push-to-talk voice functionality. Using encryption, authentication, user filtering, and integration with new and existing LMR systems, a secure voice platform ensures malicious software, unauthorized access and brute force security attacks will not compromise the voice communications of the system. The VoIP system is engineered to ensure graceful system degradation in the event of maintenance activities, natural disasters and failure modes. The hardened VoIP system offers the functions a LMR trunking system while utilizing broadband connections. Private calls, group calls, Emergency Alarms with covert monitoring capability, scanning and priority scanning may be incorporated into the system. The system includes a VoIP-controller that serves as a trunking controller, manages available VoIP-based conference bridges, and assigns them as needed to the parties involved in each voice call. The system includes multiple fallback methods that may be prioritized based on pre-failure analytics.

A method for displaying messages includes receiving, from a social network system, a plurality of messages, and filtering the plurality of messages into at least two filtered sets of messages based on a group where each of the at least two filtered sets of messages include a different subset of the plurality of messages. The method can include assigning each of the at least two filtered sets of messages to a column, triggering concurrent display of the at least two filtered sets of messages in the assigned column, and analyzing data related to an interaction of a user with at least one filtered set of messages from the at least two filtered messages.

Automatic uploading of attachments to group cloud storage at send time

Technologies are presented directed to uploading of attachments to a relevant group cloud storage at send time. A communication application and/or service may suggest to a user to upload an attachment of an outgoing communication to a group cloud storage upon generation of the communication. Suggestion of group may be based on last use, document type, content, user(s), which account the user is in, and comparable factors. The user (or sender) may also be provided with options to set permissions for the attachment based on the upload destination selection. In some examples, upload of work documents to personal cloud storage may be prevented and suitable groups may be selected for user that are part of multiple groups.

This system introduces photo imagery, video imagery, animation imagery, graphic interchange format (GIF) imagery, written content imagery, audio wave imagery, audio file imagery, and streaming media imagery, which is subject to an appearing, disappearing, deletion, and expiring time restriction as set by the sender or system administrator. The system primarily facilitates time restricted appearing content such as selfies, standard photos, video, and audio files where end-users can alter, manipulate or replicate the content against a competing clock for a predetermined period of time while the content is still in a server or electrical storage device prior to going live on a social media website or in a private in-house website forum. In addition, a sender or system administrator may grant preferred end-users pre-release authority to replicate the sender's original content within the server so that it may later be compared against the sender's original content sent to a website display or gallery.
