Messaging system apparatuses circuits and methods of operation thereof
Disclosed are a messaging system, apparatuses circuits and methods of operation thereof. A messaging client device is adapted to receive an impermanent message and to manage the received message in accordance with a message management policy associated with the message. An impermanent messaging server is adapted to validate said messaging client device as complying with message management policies prior to authorizing transmission of the message to said messaging client device.
Systems and methods for securing social media for users and businesses and rewarding for enhancing security
The disclosed system and method enhances security of people, organizations, and other entities that use what has been termed “social media.” Recent trends have shown that information posted to social media may cause tremendous damage to individuals and other entities. This includes information that was posted deliberately or unintentionally, including social security numbers, financial data and other sensitive information. Further, information that previously may have been viewed as innocuous, such as location data, has caused harm on certain occasions and may need to be protected. The disclosed system provides a novel method of screening, identifying, and preventing certain information from being posted on social media and other public locations. In addition, the disclosed system and method improves security by motivating people to use security software by offering rewards for its use.
Automated social message stream population
A messaging system automatically populates a stream of messages using only a seed selected by the requesting account holder. In one embodiment, the seed includes the streams of one or more of the “top” accounts of the messaging system . Here, “top” is according to any one of a number of different metrics stored in the messaging system. With knowledge of the seed, the messaging system automatically populates a stream for the requesting account holder, without requiring any other input. As a result, an account holder is provided with a fully functioning stream with very little effort or knowledge required on their part.
Enhancing performance of message search and retrieval
A message management service can enable a client to search and retrieve of messages from one or more messaging services. The message management service can stage delivery of results to the client to reduce response time for identification of messages satisfying a query. Initially, the message management service can send information descriptive of results, which the client can display. The message management service can send subsequent responses including supplemental information associated with a result and/or actual messages.

Storage and processing of ephemeral messages
A server includes volatile and non-volatile memories for storing messages received from a client device. A message reception module of the server stores a message received from a first client device in the volatile memory for an extended time period based on an indicator included in the message. The message reception module deletes the message from the volatile memory based on detection of a triggering event or stores the message in the non-volatile memory based on not detecting the triggering event before the extended time period has expired. The triggering event may include the message having been read by all specified recipients of the message. The indicator may be included in the message based on a relationship of the message to other messages. The message including the indicator may be related to other messages as part of a same conversation that has been determined to be suitable for short-term storage.
Multi-tiered anti-spamming systems and methods
Embodiments are provided for reducing unwanted messages or spam within a real-time social networking service. According to certain aspects, a synchronous analysis module may operate in coordination with an asynchronous analysis module. Each of the synchronous analysis module and the asynchronous analysis module analyzes an incoming message from a user account to determine whether the incoming message has characteristics of spam, whereby the synchronous analysis is at a lower latency than the asynchronous analysis. The asynchronous analysis is afforded the ability to identify certain spam characteristics that the synchronous analysis may identify during its lower latency analysis.
System and method for providing privacy control to message based communications
A system and method for controlling access to a message after communication. A sender sends an encrypted message to a recipient. The sender also sends an encryption key and the identity of the recipient to a services component. The recipient authenticates its access rights with the services component to obtain the encryption key. The key is held for a period of time for the recipient to access the encrypted message. The recipient may re-authenticate with the services component to again obtain the key to subsequently access the message. The sender may revoke or reinstate the receiver's access to the message by updating the service component.
Message delivery based on subsets of network identities
User devices configured to select subsets of network identities and network devices configured to deliver messages based on those subsets are described herein. The user devices each receive multiple network identities for a service account, select a subset of the network identities based on preferences, and provide the selected subset to the telecommunication network in message headers. The preferences indicate network identities for which a user wishes the user device to receive communications. A network device receives and caches the subsets. The network device further utilizes the subsets in determining which user device to deliver messages to.
