Systems and methods for recommending merchant discussion groups based on settings in an e-commerce platform
11153256 · 2021-10-19 · ·

Systems and methods are disclosed in which merchants on an e-commerce platform may use a same computer application to start and/or join discussion groups with other merchants on the e-commerce platform. An existing discussion group may be recommended to a merchant based on data specific to that merchant. A notification of the recommendation may be transmitted to the user interface of the merchant's device, and if the merchant accepts the recommendation, then the discussion group may be added to the set of discussion groups the merchant follows. Alternatively, a recommended discussion group may be automatically added to the set of discussion groups the merchant follows.

Asynchronous high throughput inbound messages with throttled outbound messages to safeguard enterprise backend systems

An enterprise backend system may have inherent limits on a throughput of inbound messages. In one implementation, a message producer publishes messages to a message broker at a high throughput. A message consumer receives messages from the broker and throttles the throughput of messages shipped to an enterprise backend system.

Messaging client application interface

A user interface for a messaging client application can include a message list. By executing various input operations on a representation of a message in the message list, the user can take an action on the message. For example, a user operating a pointing device can perform a drag operation on a representation of the message in the message list, and the action to be taken on the message can be indicated by the direction and distance of the drag. Visual feedback can be provided during the drag operation to indicate the action that will be taken if the user ends the drag at the current location.

Setting permissions for links forwarded in electronic messages

A permission manager detects when the message including the link is forwarded and sends a notification to the author indicating that the message was forwarded to another recipient. A notification may also be sent to the recipient who received the forwarded message indicating that the author has been notified that the recipient is not authorized to access the linked content within the forwarded message. The author may set the permissions for accessing the linked content from permission options that are displayed with the notification message sent by the permission manager. Once the permissions are set, the permission manager may send a notification to the recipient of the forwarded message with information relating to the set permissions.

Menu management method, server, and system

A menu management method is performed at a computing device, the method comprising: sending a request for accessing a menu management interface at a social networking platform server; and customizing, through the menu management interface, a user menu associated with the identifier of an official account by obtaining an interface address corresponding to the menu management interface; generating a management interface invoking request carrying the interface address and sending the management interface invoking request to the social networking platform server; receiving the management interface and changing at least one menu item of the user menu in accordance with the official account's definition; and returning the customized user menu to the social networking platform server, which forwards the customized user menu to a plurality of user accounts that have subscribed to the official account and enable them to exchange information with the official account through the customized user menu.

LOCATION-BASED SOCIAL SOFTWARE FOR MOBILE DEVICES

A method for communicating location information to a device includes receiving, at a computer system that implements a social networking service, location information that represents a geographic location of a device associated with a first user; associating, by the computer system, the received location information with a profile associated with the first user; and sending, from the computer system to a device associated with a second user, a message that is generated based at least in part on the location information.

Managing email content in an activity stream

Managing email content in an activity stream includes receiving a selection of a number of criteria that indicate content to be presented in an activity stream, retrieving email content based on the number of criteria, and displaying the email content in an activity stream by referencing email data related to the metadata.

Managing drafts of electronic documents across client devices

Techniques are described for managing, drafts of an electronic document (e.g., an electronic note, an electronic message, an electronic calendar invitation, and/or other types of electronic documents) between client devices. Such an electronic document can be composed using different clients, such that composing the document can be continued using different clients. A draft of an electronic document can be stored by clients and/or the message management service as a metadata. A message management service can be implemented as an intermediary computing system to manage a current version of a draft in local storage when a draft is composed using a client device. The message management service can manage version information of a draft that is exists, if any, on each of the client devices. The message management service can synchronize a draft of the message with client devices when a draft is composed using a client device.

Zero-knowledge environment based social networking engine

Methods, systems, and apparatus are described providing social networking engines. Specifically, the present specification relates to a method for implementing software containers implementing social network engines that may be configured to act in a zero-knowledge environment. In such implementations, all information pertaining to the social network engine associated with a user that is stored in the container is solely that of a user unless explicitly shared by the user. In some implementations, the containers may be configured to participate in a publish-and-subscribe network in order to share information. In addition, the containers may be provisioned with controls so that global operators may comply with local privacy rules.

Collaborative help for user applications

Collaborative help for user applications includes: generating a message, the message being reflective of a user's experience in using a user application; sending the message to a collaborative help server to share the message with other users; and receiving a response from the server providing information regarding one or more other users' experience similar to the user's experience reflected in the message.
