Communication device, communication system, and communication device control method
A communication device includes a communication section and an encrypting section. When the communication section receives from a communication control device alternative address information indicating an address of an alternative device registered as a transfer destination after a communication request for communication with a specified device is transmitted to the communication control device, the communication section determines the alternative device as the communication partner and transmits to-be-transmitted data that is encrypted by the encrypting section to the alternative device. The transfer destination indicates a transfer destination of the data to be transmitted to the specified device.
Method and system of selecting a quality of service for a bearer
Disclosed is a method and system of selecting a quality of service (QoS) level for a bearer. According to the disclosure, a network controller may track a level of congestion of a base station and report that congestion information to a policy server. Thereafter, the policy server may receive a message indicating that a new bearer is needed for a communication session with a user equipment device (UE) being served by the base station. In response, the policy server may select a QoS level for the new bearer based at least in part on the based station's level of congestion (and also perhaps based on a type of the communication session), and the policy server may then invoke use of the selected QoS level for the new bearer.
LOW-LATENCY HTTP LIVE STREAMING
Implementations provide low-latency live-video streams using existing content delivery networks. An example method includes receiving a video broadcast as a series of frames and determining, for each frame, whether the frame is a break frame. Responsive to determining that the frame is a break frame, the method includes removing an in-progress tag from a current segment file in a playlist for the video broadcast. The playlist includes at least a previous segment file, the current segment file, and a next segment file, which also has a respective in-progress tag. The method also includes associating the frame with a next segment file in a playlist and transmitting the playlist to a cache server. Responsive to determining the frame in the series of frames is not a break frame, the method includes associating the frame with the current segment file. The frame is transmitted to the cache server as a chunk.
Visual interfaces for telephone calls
Incoming calls are received from audio capable devices. A call processing server receives an incoming call from an audio-capable device to a destination number, and detects availability for an ancillary source device linked to the audio-capable device. A set of data is provided to the ancillary source device. The set of data specifies graphical menu options for functions supported by the call processing server. The ancillary source device provides an indication of a selection of one of the graphical menu options. In response to the indication, a call transfer for the incoming call is implemented.

Dual Fallback Hardened VoIP System with Signal Quality Measurement
A hardened VoIP system is presented that includes secure push-to-talk voice functionality. Through the addition of encryption, authentication, user filtering, and integration with new and existing LMR systems, a secure voice platform ensures malicious software, unauthorized access and brute force security attacks will not compromise the voice communications of the system. The VoIP system is engineered to ensure graceful system degradation in the event of maintenance activities, natural disasters and failure modes. The hardened VoIP system offers the functions a LMR trunking system while utilizing broadband connections. Private calls, group calls, Emergency Alarms with covert monitoring capability, scanning and priority scanning may be incorporated into the system. The system includes a VoIP controller that serves as a trunking controller, manages available VoIP based conference bridges, and assigns them as needed to the parties involved in each voice call. The system includes multiple fallback methods that may be prioritized based on pre-failure analytics.
NETWORK AND VIDEO/AUDIO SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR GAMING AND VIRTUAL REALITY
A wireless network and video/audio system and method for gaming and virtual reality are provided. The system and method intelligently harnesses the computing power of network of local-devices and the cloud to make powerful computing possible, anywhere.
Audio signal quality measurement in mobile device
Technologies are generally described for a method for measuring a quality of an audio signal in a mobile device. In some examples, the mobile device includes a receiving unit configured to receive an audio signal transmitted from another device; an audio quality measuring unit configured to measure a quality of the received audio signal; and a transmission unit configured to transmit the measured quality of the audio signal to the another device.
Method and apparatus for transmitting VOIP frame
A method for transmitting a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) by a wireless LAN Access Point (AP) in a communication system includes when a VoIP frame is input from a terminal, determining whether a buffer for eliminating a jitter generated in a wireless network is used, and storing the VoIP frame in a queue, determining whether the buffer is used, and when the buffer is used, determining a time interval for transmitting the VoIP frame stored in the queue and a service start time, and transmitting the VoIP frame stored in the queue in a wired fashion based on the determined time interval and service start time.
Shared workspace associated with a voice-request account
Methods are described herein related to providing a workspace that is associated with a voice-request account workspace and that is capable of establishing a session for a user-account. An example method may involve: (a) providing, by a computing system, a workspace on a virtual machine, where the workspace is associated with a voice-request account, where the workspace is accessible to one or more guide computing systems, (b) receiving, at the computing system, authentication information for a user-account, (c) receiving, at the computing system, a request to establish a session for the user-account in the workspace associated with the voice-request account and responsively establishing the session, and (d) providing, by the computing system, the one or more guide accounts with access via the workspace to the session for the user-account.
