A system and method for multilingual authentication access to a communication system in a controlled environment is disclosed. The system includes a communication subsystem that connects a communication between a first communication device and a second communication device, wherein one of the first communication device or the second communication device is used by the inmate of the correctional system. The system also includes a profile subsystem configured to determine profile information of a party associated with the first communication device. The system further includes an authentication subsystem that provides one or more challenge questions to the first communication device based on the profile information, receives at least one response to the one or more challenge questions from the first communication device, and authorizes connection of the communication between the first communication device and the second communication device based on the at least one response.

Generating and analyzing call detail records for various uses of mobile network resources includes, at a mobile network service bus configured to communicate with one or more service entities in a mobile core network, generating a first set of call detail records (CDRs) for messages received from the service entities in the mobile core network and a second set of CDRs for messages received from a tenant server that is providing an applications or a service on the mobile core network. Each of the CDRs included in the first set of CDRs and the second set of CDRs is tagged based on the processes involved in generating the particular CDR. Relationships are determined between the CDRs included in the first set of CDRs and the second set of CDRs based on the tagging and one or more of usage operations and network diagnostic operations are performed based on the relationships.

Methods and systems are disclosed for controlling and monitoring mobile devices and the intercommunication between devices. In one example, the control and monitoring may be performed between and child's mobile device and a parent's mobile device such that the parent may limit the ability of the child to access contacts, application, and other functions associated with a mobile device

The present invention pertains to improved communication quality of service in communication networks. A customer may pay different fees for different tiers of service relating to voice quality and bandwidth access. Higher service tiers may guarantee that a specific vocoder or bit rate is used; or guarantee that communication is supported by parameters such as maximum allowed dropped calls rate, jitter and latency. Availability may be guaranteed per the contract between subscribers and service providers. Different tiers may be associated with customers' records for billing purposes. High end devices may be afforded higher voice quality by comparing a given device to a look up table indicating what service level is associated therewith. A calling device or a receiving device may ask the other device to change the vocoder or bit rate to ensure a higher quality call. The user may also change the quality level before or during a call.

A call processing system comprises first and second interfaces configured to selectively pass voice signals and data signals between caller and agent to enable communication. An attenuation means is configured to selectively attenuate voice and data signals passing from the first interface to the second interface to impede the agent from receiving voice and data signals from the caller. While a string of discrete data signals is received at the first interface, the system is configured to operate exclusively in each of: a first mode in which voice and data signals are permitted to pass from the first interface to the second interface to enable the agent to receive them from the caller; and a second mode in which the attenuation means attenuates voice and data signals passing from the first interface to the second interface to impede the agent from receiving them from the caller.

A house monitoring system includes at least one sensor that detects a predetermined event, a master device that communicates with the sensor, and is connected to a fixed telephone network so as to perform calls to other fixed telephones, and a mobile phone terminal that includes a display/input unit, performs wireless communication with the master device by using a wireless router, and is connected to other mobile phones via a mobile phone network. When the sensor detects the predetermined event, the master device transmits information regarding the sensor having detected the predetermined event to the mobile phone terminal, and the mobile phone terminal displays the information regarding the sensor having detected the predetermined event transmitted from the master device on the display/input unit.
