A method and system for transferring access to cellular services from a postpaid subscriber account to a prepaid subscriber account are disclosed. A central postpaid system receives a request to transfer cellular services from the postpaid subscriber account to the prepaid subscriber account. The cellular services are transferred to a central prepaid system for the prepaid subscriber account. The amount of the transferred cellular services is deducted from the postpaid subscriber account stored in the central postpaid system. A monetary amount from the prepaid subscriber account is credited to the postpaid subscriber account for the transferred amount of cellular services.

An incoming communication processing system and method is disclosed for providing communication and data services to residents of a controlled facility. Specifically, the incoming communication processing system allows outside parties to initiate communications to residents of a controlled facility. The incoming communication processing system may work in conjunction with or separately from an outgoing communication processing system. Many restrictions and safeguards may be implemented within the incoming communication system in order to prevent improper use.

A computer-implemented audio/video visitation system for a correctional facility includes an administrator computer device, a visitation services computer system, and a plurality of tablet computer devices accessible by incarcerated inmates inside the correction facility. The administrator computer device is configured, via an administrator interface, to review and edit registered incarcerated inmate information, review and edit registered remote non-incarcerated visitor information, and suspend or allow access to the visitation computer services system to establish video visitation sessions via one of the plurality of tablet computer devices for selected ones of the registered incarcerated inmates.

System and methods are disclosed that improve the speed, efficiency and usefulness of providing telecommunication service by computerized telecommunication service. In some embodiments, systems and methods described herein enable a user to receive the telecommunication service to a mobile device of the user, such as by adding data service, minutes and/or text messages to the prepaid plan, in response to having an advertisement played on or otherwise delivered via the mobile device. An ad may be displayed or otherwise played on the mobile device or inserted into messages sent by the user via the mobile device for the user to received minutes, data or texts added to their prepaid plan. The service carrier may split compensation received from an advertiser for playing an ad on a customer's device between the service carrier and the customer.

Conventional balance inquiries by a prepaid customer or other communication-service subscriber do not return an available service amount. A computer-implemented video visitation system of a correctional facility includes an administrator computer device in communication with a visitation services computer system and a database. The administrator computer device is configured, via an administrator interface displayed on the administrative computer device, to enable or disable privileges for selected inmates in the inmate population allowing inmates access to the visitation services computer system, and set visitation session preferences including maximum visitation session length and visitation session cost that applies to the visitation services. The visitation services computer system is configured to receive requests for audio/video visitation sessions initiated by incarcerated inmates, confirm that each request involves an authorized registered incarcerated inmate or an authorized registered remote non-incarcerated visitor, transmit invitations to the respective recipients in response to each received request for an audio/video visitation session, and automatically establish interconnections between visitor computer devices at the remote locations and inmate computer devices in the correctional facility without requiring endpoint control to schedule or initiate a visitation session by administrative personnel of the correctional facility.
