Disclosed herein is an Islamic burial lahd that may include a first side wall, a second side wall, a third side wall, a fourth side wall, and a fifth wall forming a chamber. An Islamic burial lahd may include the chamber having an inner wall surface. The chamber is configured to receive a body of a deceased individual oriented in a supine position. An Islamic burial lahd may include a retaining structure having a track connected to the inner wall surface of the chamber. An Islamic burial lahd may include a removable plate having an outer perimeter edge received by a track of the at least one of the one or more retaining structures. The removable plate is configured to retain the body of a deceased individual when the Islamic burial lahd is rotated to position the body from the supine position to a right lateral recumbent position.
