CALL FLOW SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR USE IN A LEGACY TELECOMMUNICATION SYSTEM

A method of operating a network server, such as a mobile application gateway, connect devices on a cellular or carrier network with individual networks, such as enterprise voice and data networks or residential networks. The effects of the present invention are far reaching in terms of transferring effective call control from the cellular network into the control of the individual network, such as the enterprise, and enabling new business models for the purchase of cellular service from a public cellular carrier by an enterprise.

Detecting undesirable signalling traffic

Undesirable signalling traffic received at a telecommunications network is detected by establishing at least one statistical parameter in respect of signalling traffic received at the telecommunications network from at least one specific source and evaluating the established at least one statistical parameter against one or more predetermined statistical profiles.

Event notification in a hybrid network

When a mobile station requests circuit services notifications through a packet switched network, a mobile switching center sets a forwarding indicator. When the MSC detects an event indicative of a change in the status of the mobile station, the MSC sends an event notification to the packet switched network if the forwarding indicator is set to true. In the packet switched network, the base station can use the event notifications to manage communication resources used for packet data communications with the mobile station.

SUBSCRIBERLESS DIFFERENTIATED ROUTING SYSTEM AND METHOD

A differentiated routing system includes a computer-executable system to receive a request from a first network gateway of a native network for establishing a communication service from a calling party terminal to a called party terminal. Upon receipt of the request, the system determines that policy information is not known for the calling party terminal that has originated the request, and therefore append a tag to the request in which the tag indicates that the requested communication service is to be established using one or more generic policies. The generic policies include one or more default policies to be used for establishing the communication service. The system then transmits the request to a routing device, wherein the routing device determines how the communication service is routed through the native network according to the one or more generic policies.

CROSS-DEVICE HANDOFFS

A first computing device may receive an indication of user input that is at least a part of a conversation between a user and a first assistant executing at the first computing device. The first assistant and/or an assistant executing at a digital assistant system may determine whether to handoff the conversation from the first assistant executing at the first computing device to a second assistant executing at a second computing device. In response to determining to handoff the conversation to the second assistant executing at the second computing device, the first assistant and/or the assistant executing at the digital assistant system may send to the second computing device a request to handoff the conversation which includes at least an indication of the conversation.

INDIVIDUALIZATION OF MIGRATION BETWEEN TELEPHONY SYSTEMS
20170311052 · 2017-10-26 ·

Various technologies described herein pertain to controlling migration of a source endpoint in a source telephony system to a destination endpoint in a destination telephony system. The source endpoint is deactivated and the destination endpoint is activated as part of the migration. The migration of endpoints between the source telephony system and the destination telephony system can be performed in an individualized manner. Source information that specifies a state of the source endpoint is retrieved from the source telephony system and destination information that specifies a state of the destination endpoint is retrieved from the destination telephony system. Moreover, a validation is performed concerning whether the source endpoint is migratable to the destination endpoint based on the source information and the destination information. Subsequent to validating that the source endpoint is migratable to the destination endpoint, the migration is performed to deactivate the source endpoint and activate the destination endpoint.

Method, system and apparatus for announcing caller information over a television link

A method, system and apparatus for announcing caller information to users over a television link. The method comprises receiving, via a portion of a data network adapted for handling Voice-over-IP (VoIP) calls, Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) signalling information associated with an incoming call destined for a destination party, the SIP signalling information comprising a portion conveying information regarding an origin of the incoming call and information regarding an identity of the destination party. The method further comprises attempting to establish a telephony link with a device associated with the destination party over a communication network in response to the receiving. The method further comprises releasing the portion of the SIP signalling information to a processing entity to cause delivery of an indication of the origin of the incoming call over a television link associated with the destination party, the indication based on the information regarding an origin of the incoming call.

Systems and methods for seamless communications recovery and backup using networked communication devices

A recovery network may provide communication recovery and backup services to an organization. The organization may comprise an internal network, such as Internet Protocol (IP) network. An alternative communication path communicatively couples communication devices of the organization to a public communication network. A recovery application operates on devices of the organization. The recovery network receives periodic availability indicators from devices within the organization. The recovery network identifies a communication endpoint of the intended recipient of a communication request using the availability indicators.
