Audio assemblies for electronic devices

Voice-controlled devices that include one or more speakers for outputting audio. In some instances, the device includes at least one speaker within a cylindrical housing, with the speaker aimed or pointed away from a microphone coupled to the housing. For instance, if the microphone resides at or near the top of the cylindrical housing, then the speaker may point downwards along the longitudinal axis of the housing and away from the microphone. By pointing the speaker away from the microphone, the microphone will receive less sound from the speaker than if the speaker were pointed toward the microphone). Because the voice-controlled device may perform speech recognition on audio signals generated by the microphone, less sound from the speaker represented in the audio signal may result in more accurate speech recognition, and/or a lesser need to perform acoustic echo cancelation (AEC) on the generated audio signals.

Method for removing dust in sound outlet hole of loudspeaker, and terminal device

A terminal device and a method for removing dust in a sound outlet hole of a loudspeaker are provided. The method includes the following: measuring a natural frequency of the loudspeaker, generating an audio file for removing dust according to the natural frequency, and prestoring the audio file for removing dust, wherein a vibration amplitude of a vibration diaphragm of the loudspeaker is at a maximum when the vibration diaphragm is driven to vibrates by an exciting current having the natural frequency; reading the prestored audio file for removing dust; and controlling the loudspeaker to play the audio file for removing dust, to generate air flow in the sound outlet hole, wherein when the loudspeaker plays the audio file for removing dust, a wind speed of the air flow through the sound outlet hole is at a maximum.

Parameter control device, non-transitory storage medium storing a parameter control program, and parameter control method, that update a parameter of a controlled device according to a parameter adjusted by both a cooperative operated portion and a specific operation portion each associated with the controlled device

A parameter control device includes a parameter updating unit, and an operational screen displaying unit. In a case where any one of the individually operated portions is operated, the parameter updating unit changes the parameter of the controlled device, which is associated with the relevant individually operated portion, by following an operation amount of the individually operated portion. In a case where a cooperative operated portion is operated, the respective parameters of the plurality of controlled devices are changed by following an operation amount of the cooperative operated portion. The operational screen displaying unit displays the respective parameters of the plurality of controlled devices, displays the plurality of operated portions in positions corresponding to displays of the parameters of the respectively associated controlled devices, and displays the cooperative operated portion in a position corresponding to a display of a parameter of the master device.

DIGITAL VISUAL ACUITY EYE EXAMINATION FOR REMOTE PHYSICIAN ASSESSMENT

Systems and methods for assessing the visual acuity of person using a computerized consumer device are described. The approach involves determining a separation distance between a human user and the consumer device based on an image size of a physical feature of the user, instructing the user to adjust the separation between the user and the consumer device until a predetermined separation distance range is achieved, presenting a visual acuity test to the user including displaying predetermined optotypes for identification by the user, recording the user's spoken identifications of the predetermined optotypes and providing real-time feedback to the user of detection of the spoken indications by the consumer device, carrying out voice recognition on the spoken identifications to generate corresponding converted text, comparing recognized words of the converted text to permissible words corresponding to the predetermined optotypes, determining a score based on the comparison, and determining whether the person passed the visual acuity test.

System and a method for establishing data communication between devices using audio frequency

The various embodiments of the present invention disclose a system and method for initiating communication between different devices using audio frequency. The invention enables buzzers to generate monotone or limited tones for communication and data transmission. The first electronic device includes a frequency generator, an audio driver library, the buzzer or speaker, and a transmitter & the second electronic includes has an audio receiver mic, audio driver library, frequency receiver. The transmitter generates a communication request from a first electronic device to second electronic device. Further, the first electronic device and the second electronic device is installed with a buzzer application which when executed on the processor, causes the processor to enable communication between the first electronic device and the second electronic device by generating audible frequency using the buzzer/speaker.
